Mets Post Season Roster

That's 14 bats, 11 arms.

Im guessing we carry 3 catchers as Castro is probably healthy enough to make the roster, but not to the point where we can only carry him as a backup. Also, Im not sure if we keep A. Hernandez instead of Ledee. Having only Woody as a backup infielder worries me. Hernandez isn't eligible right now for the roster (I don't think), but that can be solved by DL'ing someone, I believe.

As far as pitching goes, it doesn't seem like there is room for Roberto and Guillermo, and bottom line is that Guillermo is lights out right now. Completely untouchable. Despite the fact that we made (what now can be viewed as a precipitous) a trade for Roberto, we need to cut our losses and go with the hot hand.

Anderson Hernadez is eligible for the PS roster, he was called up before Aug 31st.

You're prolly right about Ledee, but in reality, we are pretty weak with that last bat. it comes down to Ledee, Milledge, Hernandez or Tucker.

Ledee pretty much sucks, but Im not sure if Willie has any confidence at all in putting up Milledge. plus, if its a pinch running or late inning OF replacement, he probably has even less confidence in him. I just don't see him on the roster.

I thought he would wear down as the season went on, but I was wrong.

yeagh dude still like herm, but as i recall you didnt think he would wear down you were just flaming him for lack of production and calling him a bad number 2 hitter in general......you have to admit he has been great this year in that 2 hole. only had like 30 something strikeouts.

LoDuca has been solid this year.

However, if they go out over the offseason and acquire Julio Lugo to play second, as has been rumored as a possibility, PLD could wind up batting 6th or 7th. Lugo in the 2 hole between Reyes and Beltran would be sweet.

To the original point, I want Ricky Ledee nowhere near the PS roster.

At the time he was batting like .280 with a .315 OBP with no speed.

He raised his BA to .315 and his OBP to .350 which is respectable. I didn't think he can do that since his career splits are terrible after the ASB. I could care less about strikeouts either, a strikeout isn't worse than any other out in 99% of situations.

Agreed !! I also personally don't want Milledge on the PS roster either.

Guess we're just going to have to wait 2 weeks for the roster to come out.

when you call a hit and run its nice to know my number 2 hitter isnt going to swing and miss...........thats huge for a number 2 hitter.

Man you too.. I miss those long Paul Loduca hitting 2nd arguments with Ikey, this season... Man Its been a great season.. Hasn't it.
