John Faso - tomorrow's election

Hi all,
I don't know if this will stay on the main board, but I want to invite you all to consider John Faso in tomorrow's NYS governor election. He's an underdog and can use some help. He's my girlfriend's uncle and I've had the chance to talk to him and he's a pretty cool guy...

He's all for cutting taxes and balancing the budget...cutting the crap within to balance. He's in favor of capping school tax increases so that we don't see 10+% increases every year, and a big proponent of job creation. And he's already made major strides in coming from nowhere to win the party's nomination...

He spent a bunch of years in the state senate and was known for being one of the most diligent senators as minority leader.

He was impressive in debating Spitzer, and helped to really launch the race of state comptroller as a competitive one by questioning Hevesi's politics.

And finally, he's a man that's made himself from the ground up...a picture of the American dream. His father was a janitor and his mother a homemaker, he went to public school on Long Island and later to state universities to get his degrees.

I'm not the beacon of knowledge on every point, so I'd refer you to his website, and also to an analysis of spending increases if Spitzer is elected.

Thanks for your time all, don't forget to go vote! :D

Faso wants to complete cut state taxes for people that make 75K or less. Think about that voters before you vote in Spitzer in to tax the crap out of the state.

Faso is also pro-choice (except late term), pro workfare and pro gay marriage.

No, wrong again, as usual

The meaning is "effect" as a Transitive Verb
Thats what happens when you read too many MSM newspapers
Next youll correct someone for saying "should have" and
"could have"
Oh the value of a public school education

Yes and people in the country should strive to be educated
and speak English as well as any other languages.

From Merriam-Webster (you know, the dictionary)
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary

Main Entry: effect
Function: transitive verb
1 : to cause to come into being
2 a : to bring about often by surmounting obstacles : ACCOMPLISH <effect a settlement of a dispute> b : to put into operation <the duty of the legislature to effect the will of the citizens>
synonym see PERFORM
usage Effect and affect are often confused because of their similar spelling and pronunciation. The verb 2affect usually has to do with pretense <she affected a cheery disposition despite feeling down>. The more common 3affect denotes having an effect or influence <the weather affected everyone's mood>. The verb effect goes beyond mere influence; it refers to actual achievement of a final result <the new administration hopes to effect a peace settlement>. The uncommon noun affect, which has a meaning relating to psychology, is also sometimes mistakenly used for the very common effect. In ordinary use, the noun you will want is effect <waiting for the new law to take effect> <the weather had an effect on everyone's mood>.

I think Faso has good ideas but doesn't stand a chance of winning...it'll be interesting to see if Spitzer holds true to his vow of sending more NY state school tax $$ to private schools...

I voted for Faso today, even though he doesn't stand much of a chance, I voted my principle. I also voted for Spencer, while I'm not delusional enough to think Spencer will win, I'm just hoping that Hillary wins with a smaller plurality then projected to slow her national ambition.

The irony of this post is priceless. If there was an American Funniest Home Videos for stupid posts, this would win the season finale and the $100k. :P
