old school steps in to help "w"
will baker & gates help bush find a better path for the iraq debacle?
I think baker is a pretty smart cookie & am glad he is heading up an advisory team on Iraq (which includes dems btw). In no way can gates be as stubborn & narrowminded as rummy was. Better late than never imo |

This new team marks an end to the neo-con ideologue leanings of Rumsfeld/Cheney. These guys are far more pragmatic, and bringing them in shows that W is much more flexible than he's been given credit for.

imo he was forced into this newfound flexibility. but whatever the reason ( my guess is father & son had a heart to heart) I welcome the change. |

If this change is a watering down of an already liberal/PC policy of fighting this war, this won't fix anything. At this point, we should put our troops on each border and seal it tigher than hillary's bungh*le. Then let the iraqi's have their bloodbath and let their army/government deal with the internals.
We've already shown the terrorists that a good majority of America IS a paper tiger and that's only going to embolden them more. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not. Last edited by Spirit of Weeb; 11-09-2006 at 06:03 PM. |
