Imperious Inter keep on winning
Sunday, 28 January 2007

FC Internazionale Milano made it 14 successive Serie A victories by seeing off the challenge of ten-man UC Sampdoria to stay eleven points clear of AS Roma while AC Milan(There are 30 points between inter ad Milan!)moved to within striking distance of fourth

European record
Argentina defender Burdisso, who has scored four times in the Copa Italia this season, struck his second league goal of the season in the eleventh-minute at San Siro. It was enough for Inter's 16th straight victory in Serie A, surpassing the top-flight record of Europe's 'big five' leagues held by Real Madrid CF in 1960/61 and FC Bayern München, between 2004/05 and 2005/06, and extended their lead at the top to 14 points.

As of last week they were only letting in season ticket holders. I don't know what's changed this week, if anything.

After last season's farce, it's good to see Inter finally doing what they should have done at least a few times in the last 10 years and winning well. Even without points penalties for Fiorentina and Milan, Inter would still be racing to the title. Good for them.

On 9 March 1908 was born one of the greatest teams of the world, called F.C. Internazionale, is the only team who has never been in Serie B.

The constitutive act reads:
"it will born here in the restaurant, l'Orologio, meeting of artists and will be forever team of great talent ... this splendid night will give the colors to our emblem, black and blue on the background of golden stars, will be called International because we are the brothers of world"

In Italian:

"nascerą qui, al ristorante "l'orologio", ritrovo di artisti e sarą per sempre una squadra di grande talento.Questa notte splendida darą i colori al nostro stemma: il nero e l'azzurro sullo sfondo d'oro delle stelle. Si chiamerą Internazionale, perchč noi siamo fratelli del mondo"(Milano 9 marzo 1908)....
