Talking Zito a met as early as tonight?!?!

i just heard that barry zito and the mets are coming extremely close to reaching an agreement and information from either party may be released as early as tonight for 6years and just under $100mil

This was posted on a sports rumor blog, nodbody has confirmed it and most the sites i usually read that are pretty dead on and quick on breaking met news are saying nothin so take it for what it is a rumor

as for the BS factor, coming from the forum who had a 50 page thread on a jets draft trade that never came close to happening, you can shut up....i figured some people would like to know, sry if you dont believe

there were reports the Mets flew a contingent of people to meet with him on the west coast, so it is not that unbelievable...

According to today's Daily News... the Mets are meeting with Zito on the West Coast as we speak. No other info provided... just that a few Mets front office ppl flew out to Cali to meet with Zito.

Hopefully they are hammering out the fine details and Zito will soon be announced as the newest Mets pitcher.

When pitching under Rick Peterson he was 61-29 with an ERA around 3 in the AL. Re-uniteing him with Rick Peterson and moving him to the NL could produce some scary results.

Im not saying his numbers will improve that much, but I don't see him posting a 3.8 ERA next season either.
