His Legacy is more important.
If he admits that Iraq is a failure (which any clear minded intelligent person will admit to) then he admits his entire presidency is a failure. By raising the # of troops, he drags out this misguided mission with the hope that he is out of office when we finally get out.

The man is disgusting

It looks as though he wants to blame the democrats for this failure if he does not get the troops. I have already told my congressman not to vote for the troops.

The mission for new troops should not be funded if it comes down to it.
