lol, that was actually a line from the Simpsons. It was the episode where the history of Homer's mother is revealed, when he was little she joined a group of environmental protests and became a hippie. But what started her rebellion against convention was when Grampa was watching Super Bowl III. Basically, he says, "Hey, quiet down in there, if no one watches this thing then it's not going to last. Look at Joe Namath with that long girlie hair. Johnny Unitas, there's a haircut you can set your watch to." Homer's mother then looks at the tv and falls in love Joe Namath and his hair flying in the breeze. :D |

It was until LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act. Then the GOP Southern Strategy was implemented, and the rest is history. Hell, St. Ronnie kicked off his campaign in Philadelphia, MS, where three civil rights workers were murdered for daring to help black people register to vote. |
