I think McCain (and the GOP) will lose in a landslide to Obama in the fall
unfortunately ...
If anybody thought Bob Dole ran a poor campaign, you will forget it after McCain presidential campaign is over and done with. |

Bob Dole is an interesting comparison, both men were far too old to win the general election.

Bob Dole being a weak candidate had little to do with his age. He was an uncharismatic and unexciting candidate. McCain is much better than Dole in that sense, but he's not in Obama's league. |

When the curtain closes the truth comes out, McCain will crash Obama. I think Hillary would have had a better chance against McCain but she crushed herself. |

McCain never said we will be in Iraq for 100 more years. He said if we had to be there for that long we would. Obama has charisma, but he is being exposed more and more as a fraud. A lot of Kennedy democrats from the 60's and 70's will not vote for Obama and feel they have a viable option with McCain per his social issues. My entire family is comprised of democrats (grandparetns, parents), and they are all disgusted by Obama. I do think he will pull it out just because of his popularity, but it wont be in a landslide. |

McCain may be old, but he has a ton of experience and is able to reach across party lines and actually accomplish things. Obama has no experience has had contacts in the past with the underground(terrorists) and a looney minister. Obama is so left wing nobody in the Rebublican Party will vote for any of his programs.

I know, it really is terrible. But they will vote for McCain over Obama. Question for you since I know you follow Obama: In the unlikely event Hillary is nominated, who would you vote for if it is Hillary vs. McCain? |

Well all I can say is the GOP has lost my vote... and I'm not voting for a socialist either... the only viable canidate left in my fiscally conservative, socially liberal mind... Former Republican Congressman from Georgia.... Bob Barr (Libertarian).... I ain't wasting my vote this year.

I think a democratic landslide is in the air, but it may not materialize in practice. A gentleman with a bio / talents identical to Obama who was white and named "Robert Smith" would be looking at a crushing victory. As it stands, I think we'll have a barely comfortable win with a few scares during the summer and even a couple on election night.
The Republicans, however, are going to really suffer in the House and Senate -- and deservedly so -- the 2000-2006 majority crowd are among the worst groups ever to serve. |

BTW, that majority crowd took over in '94 and not '00.
On the first point, you're joking of course. Bush and the Republicans are 100% responsible for the economy --which isn't all bad right? That's what Bush keeps saying anyway. Just as the Dems were 100% responsible for the economy from 1992-2000 as the Clinton budget passed with 0 Republican votes. Second, right, but the 94'-2000 leadership in the House and Senate was different than during the 2000-2006 period. The latter group (Delay, Frist, Boehner) were much worse. |

The GOP really burns my ass on this one. The dems produce BHO as the competition, and the best the GOP can manage is McCain?
The fact this election may be close, or even lost to the likes of BHO should prompt the GOP to take a long, hard look in the mirror. Of course, McCain's left the reservation so often, you might as well say the dems have it locked up no matter who "wins." |
