He's probably not ready for the show, but man it is exciting to get some fresh young blood in there to cheer for for a change. I find it interesting they're replacing Marlon (A lefty) with Evans (A righty)....could the eventual Delgado platoon be among us as well, and thats why they chose Evans over Carp?

Lineup is In, Evans batting 8th.
Reyes, ss Castillo, 2b Wright, 3b Beltran, cf Tatis, rf Delgado, 1b Castro, c Evans, lf Vargas, rhp Tatis 5th strikes me as really odd….I would assume it was originally Church but they scratched him, but why not move Tatis down the lineup then? |

Yes! Great 1st inning for the Mets!
Nice, to see Evans line a double the oppesit way. He's always been one of my favorite prospects. |

Very impressive debut. I love that he's going to the opposite field.

Evans needs to be a platoon player right now.
Vs Lefties - .333/.400/.556, 2 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K Vs Righties - .083/.083/.167, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 6 K He looks like a ML hitter against Lefties, and like an AA hitter against Righties. I have no problem keeping him up, as long as he's used as such. I think he'll develop against Righties with more seasoning, but he's not at that point now. |
