He has the right to turn it down. He doesn't need it and he doesn't agree with SS, but yet he takes it. Ok.
you're not helping yourself. if he thinks ss is a bad idea, why would he not want to get his money back from something he doesn't want to pay into to begin with???? your argument is backwards.
Maybe he should pay his backtaxes on his property. A family worth over 100 million should be collecting the 23k. You got it.

I am not disgusted. I think it is pretty funny a multi-millionaire needs his SS check. If you pulled the check think he would of noticed?
that doesn't matter. it is HIS money. he paid it, so he should get it. only some tree hugging socialist would have issues with someone collecting what is rightfully theirs.

If you believe the govenments job is wealth distribution we shouldn't have SS or a SS tax. Just means test it and pay it out of the general tax fund.

If your adjusted gross income is more than the average adjusted income for the country as a whole, you shouldn't be able to keep 1 dime of it.

If he paid into it, why should he not collect it?

Who should decide who gets SS and Medicare? The nice thing about ending the phony Democratic idea that these are paid in programs and it's our money is once they kill that nonesense, they can not only means test it but axempt every one whithout the means from paying into it. We can just call FICA welfare from now on.

So your argument against him is that he is rich, and he probably paid too much money into it, so he's not entitled to receive the benefits?

Why do people act like having wealth is a bad thing? If making money is bad, why didn't Obama take all the proceeds from his book and donate to inner city youth in Chicago? There is nothing wrong with making money, and nothing wrong with collecting monies that you paid into.

Look, it's not a good system. But if you want only poor people to collect, why don't you just tell me how much I should give away a year to people who make less money than I do.

If you see someone collecting welfare you assume they never paid in and do not deserve it.

Is it possible to pay too much money in SS? Don't think so big guy.

I never said that. What makes you think I never had to take advantage of WIC, and I've paid plenty in taxes. I just don't understand why you think McCain cashing his Social Security checks is a bad thing. Or why people act like being wealthy is a bad thing.

If by paying in too much you mean that I pay in a lot, and then collect a proportionately small amount back, yeah then I think I'm paying too much.

When did I say it was a bad thing? I simply said the guy doesn't even use his Senate salary because he married money and then add on his comments about SS. That's all.

but that makes no sense. someone against social security is not going to then say that everyone else can have his money. it's his, he paid into it even though he didn't want to, so he's going to get his money back when it's time. who cares if he likes it or not. he put the money in, he deserves to get it back.

"Americans have got to understand that we are paying present-day retirees with the taxes paid by young workers in America today," he said. "And that's a disgrace. It's an absolute disgrace, and it's got to be fixed."

If he considers it money he put into it and duly his, then why would he make that statement? He implies that it hurts young working Americans unjustly when old people get paid out of SS yet he takes the check he doesn't need and in his opinion hurts young Americans himself anyway. Thats how I see it, anyway.
