Fernando Injured, Niese Throws CG

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote:
BREAKING NEWS: Fernando hurt, leaves game
From the Minor League Thread on NYFS:

He grabbed his leg and limped into the dugout.

Severity is obviously unknown.

And for better news, Jon Niese just finished off a CG 6 hit shutout in game 1 of Binghamton's DH. One walk, 8 Ks, lowering his ERA to 3.04, and picking up his 6th win.

The title makes it sound like he broke his leg or ruptured his achilles... it could be a pulled hammy, cramps, or anything at this point.

Step away from the ledge.

Well I'm done ranting. This really sucks. We do not need another injury to F-Mart, that knocks him out for a long period of time. Now, we don't know the severity of this, so it could all be a cramp, but if it isn't then that's a huge bummer. This could force Omar to trade for an OF. Hopefully, he doesn't do anything stupid.

And Niese won't pitch Saturday! Oh well.

The only concern I'd have with this injury is that Martinez's one problem so far as a prospect is that he hasn't been able to stay healthy. But this doesn't sound like a really bad injury or anything, and he's already done a lot with his bat this year in AA at a young age. It probably means that he won't be in the majors this year, but that would have been a terrible decision anyways.

Yep, but he'll probably get the "can't stay healthy" tag on him. I know Jose Reyes had the same thing and shook it off, but you never know.

Is that a one time problem, or more of a monthly deal?
