Palin was director of Steven's 527 group

She was for political corruption before she was against it apparently.

So what's next? So much for being a reformer.

Governor Palin has a great personal story, but the more stuff comes out it shows that the McCain camp didn't vett her.

People should have raised red flags when it was reported that McCain has spoken to her only TWICE, one time being when he offered her the VP slot.

Exactly. It's such an irresponsible choice, imo; and that has nothing to do with her. I bet he never even had a conversation with her. It just proves that he's not the one calling all the shots. Why else would he pick someone he doesn't even know?

The Obama detractors really miss this point.

McCain is known for surrounding himself with people he knows and trusts. Up util the DNC, reports are that he was set on picking Liebermann. He then flips and chooses Palin after 1 conversation (the 1st convo was in January, before he was even the nominee).

It's unfortunate for Palin, IMO, because she could have been the frontrunner in 2012 or 2016 for the Republican party as a tough-as-nails 2 time governor (assuming she won re-election in Alaska) and neutralized Obama (on re-election) or Hillary.

If McCain loses, Palin may be cast aside by her party like Dan Quayle.

I don't know about all that. These McCain voters are acting more like they're voting her for president than they are McCain. I mean, if McCain is elected, the neocons' grip on the republican party tightens and she's into the fold even if she isn't really one of them. If McCain loses, it was his choice to pick her as VP, not hers and nothing is stopping her from running for whatever she wants. Unless she makes a fool out of herself somehow, which seems unlikely.
