A) Finishes 6th or better in MVP Voting & Wins World Series MVP

or

B) Wins NLCS MVP & World Series MVP

But if he wins World Series MVP, I don't think any of us will really care.

Mets win, Phillies lose. Today is a good day.

Too bad the Braves won

No matter what the scenario, he's back next season barring a career threatening injury the rest of the year........as he should be.

I agree, although it is relevant to me if he's making 4 million more or not (As his option if it doesn't vest is only 12 million).

He probably will be back but if there is another option, he shouldn't be.

What do you think the chances of him repeating this season are?

Low. Very low.

Why? There is no salary cap in baseball. It's Wilpon's money, not yours. Who cares what he gets paid as long as he performs, which he clearly is doing. Even if he plays like this for half a season, I'd say he was worth 16MM to the Mets this year considering without him we would be 3 games behind Philly right now.

Elijah Dukes is an unstable menace to society...he'll end up in jail, hopefully not before he kills someone. Pelfrey should do us all a favor & put one on his skull...

You need to look at his career and see how silly a statement that is.
Last season in a down year he went 24 and 87. This year is in the norm numbers wise with every other year of his career. He just started slow this year and is now going nuts. There are also no 1st baseman out there besides Tex.

It matters because the Mets have a finite budget an extra $4 million to him is $4 million they won't spend elsewhere.

Holy poop on a stick Mr. Hat.

Just got home and checked the box score. Good god, what has gotten into the Nats. Crazy game, Wright comes through with the insurance blast. What an offensive show down.
