So Palin lives in a state with a major secessionist party of which her husband was a member and whose convention she addressed. And she wants to talk about parts of the country that aren't pro-America? What a flippin hypocrite.
during that address she told them (2006) that she "shared their vision"

a vision of Alaska as it's own country?
Obama has the luxury to not have because every single media outlet demonizes her for him. Why? Because she's a threat. Joe the Plumber? What did he do besides ask a pointed question? And what happens? He gets crushed in the media with a scrutiny not even Obama has to face. No one wants to address his "spread the wealth" comments.

And I'll say it again, if Palin made a fraction of the idiotic gaffes that Obama's VP candidate has in the last two months, she would have resigned/been booted/assassinated.
Can you explain that one? I don't pay much attention to Biden, but i've never seen a national politician look nearly as idiotic as Palin. She kinda has the market cornered on idiot.

btw, I'm pretty sure that Bittergate got a ton more play and that was during a primary

You watch too much SNL.

Joe Biden invited Palin to come to him to a restaurant, a specific restaurant in a specific location, where real Americans are suffering ... that restaurant closed 20 years ago.

Within hours of the VP debate, 14 lie/mistakes (political stuff, not inventive memories) were noted and corroborated by McCain/Palin campaign. Totally ignored, and some of them were whoppers.

Joe Biden passionately described how FDR went on TV after the crash of 1929 to soothe a worried nation. Are you f'ing kidding me?

If Palin had said this, even I'd be trashing her. But she didn't. Joe did.
(And that's just a few weeks work)

Objectively he is a moron compared to her, you know, by the things he actually says. Subjectively? She must be ridiculed until she's not a threat. That is the playbook.

Just like what they did to this Joe the Plumber guy. Obama shows up on his driveway, Joe the Plumber asks a tough question, Obama makes with a frightening slip of the tongue ... and instead of concentrating on his flat-out, plain and simple 'spread the wealth' philosophy, we get a media circus on Joe the Plumber and his background and Funny Photoshops and SNL jokes and ... like anyone who threatens Obama, all stops are pulled to marginalize him.

That is the playbook.
Palin's an embarrassment. As Noonan wrote, she doesn't have an ideology, she just "says things." Her 15 minutes on the national stage are over. I suspect, now that Alaskans have gotten a good look at her, her political career in Alaska is finished too.
The social conservatives were desperate for a Pat Buchanan/Rush Limbaugh/Ann Coulter-esque candidate and they got one in Gov. Palin.

Be careful what you wish for.

Sorry, I don't see it that way and it has nothing to do with SNL. Produce tape of Biden looking 1/10 as foolish as Palin herself did in the Katie Couric interview and you might have a point. McCain didn't want Palin in front of the press, when she was finally put there, she was an unmitigated disaster. Now she's not allowed back. Her performance in the debate was comically absurd. I'm not exaggerating when I say I don't ever remember a national politician coming off so clueless and unprepared in my 35 years. She makes dubyah look intellectually curious.

This Joe the plumber guy makes 40k a year and wants to buy a business that makes 100k a year. Neither of these figures would be effected by Obama's plan, yet he phrased his question as if he was being penalized. (Not to mention that he's not licensed and owes back taxes..)

I heard on the radio this morning some nitwit compare herself to Joe the Plumber saying her 42k a year salary is going to get redistributed to lay people. The host did not correct her.

I'm all for criticizing Obama's tax plan, I think it's foolish to raise taxes on anyone when he should be cutting spending. But, maybe I'm too detail orientated a person, but I'd rather deal in those details and attack his actual plan rather then this silly Joe the Plumber nonsense.

Maybe McCain should've done the reasonable thing and vetted the guy himself before mentioning him 20+ times on live TV. It would've been a lot more reputable if he conceded the guy misunderstood Obama's plan, but wanted to talk to the essence of his point which was valid! Instead, McCain turned the guy into a gimmick, you can't fault us for pointing and laughing..

Let me help you out, when the most liberal senator in Washington says we've got to spread our wealth for the guys "behind us" - then you better believe we might be getting a whale=load more than we're bargaining for. Barack's answer cannot, in the minds of Obamaphiles, spread across the electorate. It is scary.

No one cares who Joe the Plumber is or what he makes in real life; it's Obama's cavalier answer that's so astounding. (plus an obsequious press that thinks the heart of the story is to challenge the veracity of Joe Mulletovich's plumbing license)

Yet Palin's mannerisms scare you.

Of course it is, but McCain's not much better frankly. He's going to tax company provided health insurance o make health insurance cheaper for those who don't get it. I don't know why you seem to think they don't all have socialist policies, outside of a guy like Rob Paul..

Wrong. I do. The devil is in the details sackdance. McCain is trying to present this guy as some kind of everyman, which he is, but he's also not going to be effected by Obama's tax plan. It's disingenuous and I don't like it. At least Obama was honest with the guy, but the friggen guy was lying to Obama

I've been researching buying a business for 18 months now, did DD on countless businesses. I can tell you without a doubt that Joe Everyman's do NOT own businesses that net and claim 250k. They just don't.

Who said anything about mannerisms? Close your eyes and listen to her words in the clip below, it's about the most absurd clip of moronic nonsense I've ever heard. How can you defend it????

"Your party plays an important role in our state's politics. I've always said that competition is so good. And that applies to political parties as well."

These are Gov Palin's words while addressing the Alaska Independant Party's 2008 convention. She's been a registered Republican since 1982. Can we stop with that silly argument now? See below for reference:

Well, it's good to know that Northern Virginia is communist territory. We all knew that from reading Warfish's posts (;) ):
WOODBRIDGE, Va. – A top aide to John McCain said Saturday the Republican presidential nominee still has a strong chance of winning the state because of his support in "real Virginia," the downstate areas far removed in distance and political philosophy from the more liberal northern part of the state.

"As a proud resident of Oakton, Va., I can tell you that the Democrats have just come in from the District of Columbia and moved into northern Virginia," McCain senior adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer said on MSNBC. "And that's really what you see there. But the rest of the state, real Virginia, if you will, I think will be very responsive to Sen. McCain's message."

Program host Kevin Corke asked Pfotenhauer if she wanted to retract the comment, prompting her to reply, "I mean 'real Virginia' because northern Virginia is where I've always been, but 'real Virginia' I take to be the — this part of the state that is more Southern in nature, if you will. Northern Virginia is really metro D.C."

Earlier this month, McCain's brother, Joe, told those at an event for the Republican nominee that two Democratic-leaning areas in Northern Virginia, Arlington and Alexandria, were "communist country." He quickly apologized and called the remark a joke.
He's affiliated with a secessionist party. You can't get any worse than that from the standpoint of patriotism. That's the bottom of the barrel. I'll take Michelle's militant leftism any day of the week, just as I would have supported the efforts of abolitionists in the 1850's when so many mainstream politicians were trying desperately to make nice and label the abolitiionists as "radicals" and "zealots." Leftists are arguing for change within the system. Sessionists are rejecting the nation and its constitution as a whole. That's far more dangerous if aggravated into a large scale movement.

Hmmm. I wonder if the said the same thing at the Alaskan Communist Party's convention.

The fact is, she panders to a secessionist movement. I ask again, is a secessionist party to be considered "pro-America"?

And yes, Palin's husband has been a member of the party.

A hypocrite is someone like Joe Biden who votes to authorize military action in Iraq when it's politically popular, then denounces it when it no longer is popular. That's a hypocrite.

this response is pretty pathetic... but I'll entertain you

Has any WMD's come out of Iraq yet? Joe was lied to, just like you where, and I was, but at least you highlighted Barack Obama's vision... he was against the war from the beginning, the beginning.. when it was politically popular.

Please!!! Lied to by who? Didn't Hillary Clinton have the same intelligence available to her, as Bush, when her husband was the president? She voted for the military option also. (President Clinton also called Saddam a threat and supported military action)
