The End of the USA Draws Near?
RUSSIAN ANALYST PREDICTS DECLINE AND BREAKUP OF USA
Tue Nov 25 2008 09:04:22 ET A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts. Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse." The paper said Panarin's dire predictions for the U.S. economy, initially made at an international conference in Australia 10 years ago at a time when the economy appeared strong, have been given more credence by this year's events. When asked when the U.S. economy would collapse, Panarin said: "It is already collapsing. Due to the financial crisis, three of the largest and oldest five banks on Wall Street have already ceased to exist, and two are barely surviving. Their losses are the biggest in history. Now what we will see is a change in the regulatory system on a global financial scale: America will no longer be the world's financial regulator." When asked who would replace the U.S. in regulating world markets, he said: "Two countries could assume this role: China, with its vast reserves, and Russia, which could play the role of a regulator in Eurasia." Asked why he expected the U.S. to break up into separate parts, he said: "A whole range of reasons. Firstly, the financial problems in the U.S. will get worse. Millions of citizens there have lost their savings. Prices and unemployment are on the rise. General Motors and Ford are on the verge of collapse, and this means that whole cities will be left without work. Governors are already insistently demanding money from the federal center. Dissatisfaction is growing, and at the moment it is only being held back by the elections and the hope that Obama can work miracles. But by spring, it will be clear that there are no miracles." He also cited the "vulnerable political setup", "lack of unified national laws", and "divisions among the elite, which have become clear in these crisis conditions." He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong. He even suggested that "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all." Panarin, 60, is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has authored several books on information warfare.
Sadly, I do not have a link to the original source (got this from another board), so I make NO claims to it's authenticity. Just though it woul dmake interesting reading here. |

Sell Alaska. Let the left coast secede and fail in every imaginable way. Texas will do its own thing... it's just how they are. The rest would remain intact.
Really though... nothing of this sort will ever occur. |

Every day.
Yes, the influence really started with these guys, and rightly so: I'm ok with the hockey, and Anne Murray was smokin' in her day, but I don't speak a lick of French. Would we have to join Quebec or Canada? What's the national beer of Canada, LaBatts or Molsen? At least there would be no more arguments on which side of Niagara Falls is better...it'd be the Canadian side by default. Fish, here's a link to the article: http://en.rian.ru/world/20081124/118512713.html OUCH! This part was left out of the original post-same article: On the fate of the U.S. dollar, he said: "In 2006 a secret agreement was reached between Canada, Mexico and the U.S. on a common Amero currency as a new monetary unit. This could signal preparations to replace the dollar. The one-hundred dollar bills that have flooded the world could be simply frozen. Under the pretext, let's say, that terrorists are forging them and they need to be checked." When asked how Russia should react to his vision of the future, Panarin said: "Develop the ruble as a regional currency. Create a fully functioning oil exchange, trading in rubles... We must break the strings tying us to the financial Titanic, which in my view will soon sink." RIA Novosti might have a slight slant to their reporting. Its a very common miss-conception about Canada being french, especially people form the US. northeast. Everytime they come up here they are in Quebec... Which really is very very different from english canada. Rural areas of and smaller cities in Quebec are almost 100% french, but montreal is very bi-lingual - put it this way: you can get by in French Canada with only english, but it is much harder to get by in english canada with only french. Most of English canada takes mandatory french classes through grades 3-8 (sometimes earlier) but you are only required one french credit for highschool. Basically most english Canadians don't speak a lick of French. Also recently the canadian government has tried harder to recognize Quebec as a distinct society legally - which has really put a tailspin on the separatist movement. This recent federal election saw the "Block" (Canada's French only separatist party) lose a lot of power. The movement really is dying as average Quebecers are realizing they are much better off with Canada than without... And they will get even more federalist once Justin Trudeau (Son of former PM Pierre Trudeau) gets into the federal liberal party action.. We should see a huge resurgence of federalism in Quebec. Labatts or Molson... neither are really that good. I actually prefer American beer, go figure? Just get me a silver bullet. |

They stole this from the ancient Greeks! The Oracle at Delphi warned about hedge fund managers and bitter conservative Republican radio hosts in her shout-out to Pericles. |

13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. (or in other words, The United Nations) 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. (League of Nations falls apart becomes the UN) 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (Here we are) 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, |
