I was hesitant to go there because of the language barrier and alleged attitude of the French towards Americans, but it was the most beautiful city that I have ever been to. I can't wait to go back.

I didnt know any french except a few words and I was able to get by. Actually was surprised I only ran into a few rude people for the most part they were friendly. Paris at night is beautiful.

Everyone I met was really nice.

Paris at night was unbelievable. So much culture in that city.

Yeah, my biggest issue was not exactly the language barrier - it's my food allergies and not exactly knowing what was in some foods plus having a hard time expressing that I'm allergic to certain foods.

Glad you both had a good time and my compatriots weren't complete douchebags.

Being French and having lived almost half my life in the US gives me a unique perspective on the whole thing. There are as many idiotic stereotypes on both sides of the Atlantic. One thing that will get you the typical French ******* response is if you walk up to him and speak English off the bat without trying a word of French. For sure, he'll tell you to **** off. A good tip while travelling: always learn a few words of the language. at least "do youspeak English?". Most people will be open and friendly afterwards.

Thanks. I gave the guy a compliment for the great photos. But outside of a Frenchman's proclivity for waving the white flag and lying down like a dog in the face of aggression (a la Mangini's coaching style), I'm not sure what the correlation is between the thread and the "Jets Insider Landing Strip."

Damn, I like Paris too. Been there three times and each time I wished I could stay for a month just to really get to know the city well. We were there during fashion week once, and the amount of beautiful women walking around was off the charts. Even my wife kept nudging me to look at the hot chicks. :D

Really there is so much to see that it's impossible to take it all in, even in a week or two. And I found the Parisians to be surprisingly friendly, unlike some of the outlying areas and cities where a lot of people were pretty rude.

yeah tonight i ate at this nice restaurant and you got an appetizer, main course, and a dessert for 16 euros a person. there were tons of choices. i tired snail for my appetizer and it was covered in garlic butter sauce. it was really really good believe it or not. i had 3 lamb chops and fries for my main course with this really really good sauce. I had chocolate cake for my desert and it was the best chocolate cake ive ever had. The food was amazing! it was the best meal ive had in a long time maybe even the best ive ever had.

The cheese is REALLY GOOD! There is some i dont like but there, but there are others i LOVE.

I live in Tallahassee.

GREAT kid Lourve story.

Traveling with another family, 10 of us in all.

My youngest sopne, probably 6 at the time hurls all over my feet on the tram/subway/elevated train on the way to the Lourve. Sitting on my lap facing out and all I feel is hot wetness on my feet. In my camera bag, all over the place (some nice old French woman offered me a tissue to clean up like 9 gallons of vomit).

We get out at the next stop, he says he's okay, so we wipe him down with his sweatshirt, throw it out and get back on the train and continue on.

Get to the Lourve, the line is 2 hours long, but a security guard sees this little kid yacking in front of I.M Pei's pyramid, so he walks us past the entire line, lets the 10 of us in for free to go see the doctor.

And I am literally BEGGING him to puke IN the Lourve, kind of as a statement. Which he finally does, and I revel in telling friends how my sopne actually threw up [B]IN [/B]the Lourve.

I have a picture of him in extremis on real film, another one I'll have to scan in and post.

God I love Paris.
