They should be waiting him out and watching him to see how he develops. The dude had a good preseason, he didn't heal the sick or anything.

I'd rather see Clemens get a real shot.
Define "real shot"

Is starting 8 games a real shot??
Clemens got his shot when he started 7 games and absolutely sucked.
He got hurt, and so did his starting WR's when he played, nevermind the fact he had no protection from his OL.

STFU, you know nothing.

Only for the Jets is 8 starts behind a non-existent O-line, injured WRs, and no running game considered a real shot.

Otherwise, no. Thats far from a legit shot, and he still managed to be the QB in 3 of our 4 wins.

You are almost correct sir! He did suck!

8 games

5 TD's and 10 picks and a rating of 60.9%.

And if anyone trys to use wins/losses as an arguement, that's the most assinine statement considering this is the ultimate team sport. Don't you agree?

Kellen Clemens = Patrick Ramsey in my book.

That's irrelevant when evaluating an individual's talent in the ultimate team sport.

As much as I'd love for that to be news to me, I know that.

Judging a young QB by his first 8 starts stats with no O-line, running game, or receivers doesn't strike me as rational.

Fact: The Jets offense played better with Clemens than they did with Chad in '07.

Fact: Clemens is young.

Fact: Clemens is talented.

Fact: He's been in the system for 3 years.

I can keep going...8 games doesn't mean crap to me.

Seriously...7 starts is enough for you guys to evaluate Clemens' whole pro career?

I'm sure teams are looking for expert scouts out there. Hit 'em up.
Word. I think Clemens would beat Ratliff in an open competition.
Why? He averaged a pick a day in training camp last year and was about to sit behind Pennington again? I say bring in a veteran and let the four of them fight it out.

Rex has no reason to want anything to do with Clemens, no loyalty their, he may not even be on the final roster. If he starts throwing picks in training camp like he did last year he will be gone.

Agreed - Clemens had his shot, even with a so-so line he didn't prove anything to me.
