Should we trade for Torry Holt?
Torry Holt asks the Rams for his release
Torry Holt has requested to be released by the Rams. The Rams have found no takers while shopping Holt, likely because the rest of the league knows they don't intend to pay his $1.25M roster bonus on March 17. Failing to exercise the bonus would terminate Holt's contract and make him a free agent. The Rams probably aren't going to get anything for him. Mar. 4 - 7:02 pm et Source: St Louis Post-Dispatch I say we offer a third round pick for him! |

Moss went for a 4th Owens for a 2nd Welker for a 2nd Holt isn't the caliber of any of those guys any more. McCareins did grab a second, but I'm going to forget about that right now. |

I would DEF take a look at Holt, only if he'd be our 3rd reciever, and still draft a guy like Bey,Nicks,or Britt.

Why? Stuckey is a competent sure handed receiver... Why take him out of the offense when you'll hardly ever see more than a 3 receiver look? Between the draft, Cotchery, Stuckey, Keller and Washington, I don't see our WR corp as detrimental to the team as most... It's solid but still missing the #1 guy. We lost a #2 guy and people are freaking out. Stuckey is a #2... Cotch is a #2... Clowney is a good candidate to line up as the #3 as well as Brad Smith who we've yet to see utilized as a true receiving option... We're missing our Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, etc... The big, fast, can't miss, sure handed route runner... He's in the draft this year... Maclin, DHB, Nicks... Whoever... Go get him, we'll be just fine. It's not like we're planning on throwing the pall 40 times a game anyway. |

Henry Ellard is currently our WR coach and for the last 6-8 years he worked in the same position with the Rams. I think Stuckey will be a very good player for us and he has built chemistry with the 3 QB's we have on our roster. Adding a young player like Hicks would be a better move than bringing in Holt who is at the end of his career.

Enough with the over 30 WR's. We have three young WR's who should
be given the opportunity to take spots: Stuckey Clowney Henry And we are certain to draft a WR with one of our top picks. Everyone is always complaining about how we need speed at WR then they want to pick up over 30 WR's, makes no sense |

Clowney was fine Mangini just didn't get around to activating him until the end of the season. You may be talking about Marcus Henry but he was never hurt they just stashed him on the practice squad last year. People shouldn't sleep on him he's 6-4 about 215 pounds and catches the ball very easily. Because he's so tall when he runs it seems like he's not moving very fast but each of his strides is chewing up alot of ground. The "problem" he had was his torso is so long he had trouble protecting his chest so CB's in camp were tying him up at the line of scrimmage. The WR coach (Mazzone) was working with him on this, I don't think they played him alot in pre-season because I don't think the Jets wanted the rest of the league to see him. If they did someone would have picked him off of our practice squad just like Derrick Ward. |
