Serious question: What are the chances that we see Carlos Johnson in this game? Please tell me that they are high.

Johnson broke his foot earlier this month and had surgery on it like 2 weeks ago. our usual starter at right fullback, Roy Myrie, is also hurt so that could be a problem area for us

wtf... I just got home and turned it on and it's 2-0 already.
Dirtstar still sucks. And I miss Eric Wynalda in the booth with the ESPN crew. |

Are they playing on old school astroturf? The pitch looks like green cement.

hahahahahahaha!!!!
that was AWESOME!!! and teh Stadium really was ROCKIN' ![]() ![]() ![]() Woody, you've been a good sport, so i won't rub it in (too much). let me just say i was NOT expecting this. i thought we would win, because the US always has a hard time in Saprissa Stadium, but i thought it'd be much closer and i expected to suffer a lot more. the early goal was the key... especially since the guy who scored (Saborio) was LONG overdue to score/have a good game with the national team. that set the tone, and kept the crowd in the game the whole time. again, this was completely unexpected, and i'm pretty sure you'll return the favor when we visit DC later in the year. now i'm rooting for the US to beat the piss out of Honduras on Saturday! USA!! USA!! USA!!!

to be completely honest, it looked as the the US Pfailed in the scouting department. the way they played some of our guys tells me they had no clue who they were, and didn't respect them. they kept the focus on Centeno and Herron, and left guys like Ruiz and Borges with a ton of room to operate. it's not literally Astroturf, but it's not a very high-quality surface, either. besides, they've had a ton of concerts and other events in this stadium over the past few years, which has deteriorated the field. the really need to re-surface in the near future, but it probably won't happen for another couple of years until the new National Stadium is completed. |
