More Crying and Talking By Jets Players

Jets DB Donald Strickland says Mark LeVoir’s hit was a “cheap shot,” vows to “retaliate”

Nope, not moving on to the Saints just yet… especially with the Jets continuing to chirp about Sunday’s game. First, it was coach Rex Ryan complaining about being “disrespected” late in the 31-14 loss to the Patriots.

This time, it’s Jets DB Donald Strickland. Remember him? He’s the guy who nearly got decapitated by reserve offensive lineman Mark LeVoir (pictured, No. 64) on a screen. I mean, he got ear-holed and didn’t return due to an apparent concussion.

Tonight, speaking to the Newark Star-Ledger’s Dave Hutchinson, Strickland reacted.

“I think it was a real cheap shot,’’ Strickland told The Star-Ledger.

‘‘He really didn’t have to go at my head like that, especially with the NFL’s precaution about helmet-to-helmet contact,” Strickland continued. “It happened. It was a block and he took advantage of it. But I guarantee you the next time we play them it’s going to be a different story. I’m making a point of emphasis to retaliate. That’s the way I feel.’’

Wow.

+1...

Honestly, all Tx does is bash the Jets (On a Jets site), knock each and every Jet fans positive thoughts with each and every post of each and every thread (On a Jets site), and to make it worse... He knows Jet fans are going through a hard time as of right now, and he still trys his hardest to kick Jet fans when their down...It's sad.

Lol, you posted wow, bro.

I guess with the mood around here, that one word, combined with your obvious joy in our pain, was enough.

Its not like a ban.

I thought it was a clean hit. That's a shot I want our JAGs like Scott, Smith and Rhodes to lay on opponents. But, if I were Strickland, LeVoir would be on my radar the next time our teams met.

It was more the title than the content that bothered me...

As Belushi said, as he smashed your guitar, sorry.

LeVoir is the 3rd string tackle. I wouldn't bother looking for him again unless it's on special teams. BTW, not a dirty hit at all IMHO. Linemen live for those kind of hits.

I thought it was a pretty bad helmet to helmet hit... If Eric smith got fined for his shot last year, then I think this shot should be punished as well... but since it's not on a star, I doubt the league would do anything.

Clean hit?

Helmet to helmet, especially at that impact is a 15 yarder and usually followed up by a fine...

Regardless of what you 'men' think, none of you have ever taken a shot like that...

All those tough guys taking them back in the day are walking around like Ali...

Yeah, real 'tough' guys...

Those guys...

You're a tool and you know it. Funny as hell, but a tool nonetheless.

BTW, it was an awesome hit, unfortunate as it was for the Jets. I wish Wayne Hunter would hit Merriweather like that.
