He's an animal...

He needs to retire a Jet, no matter the cost...

Silly as that sounds, it's true...

148 and a score? That's an average day for these guys, let alone the TOTAL of what Revis has given up this year against the best of the best.

He's just an extremely solid all around player. His fundamentals are solid and even when the team has run into periods where the tackling is an issue, Revis has NEVER been the problem. Without a doubt, the very best player on our team. I would certainly have to say his player is reminiscent of Deion Sanders in his hay day.....

I disagree. Perhaps Deion's greatest asset as a player was in the return game. Revis doesnt return kicks. As a pure corner however, Revis is arguably much more complete. Deion was famous for avoiding contact. Remember that play when Dave Brown, QBing the Giants dropped his shoulder and ran over Deion - lol. Deion makes Kerry Rhodes look like the second coming of Dick Butcus out there. Revis in addition to being a shut down corner is one of the best CBs in open field tackles and agains the run.

That would be me. And clearly I was wrong about the cost. He was worth it.

However, it should be noted my criticism at the time was the cost to move up, not the player selected. I think....

Like I said in another Revis thread...Darrelle Revis is the most elite "Shut down" CB since Deion Sanders.

As of right now, Darrelle Revis is just as good, if not better than Champ Bailey during his prime years...He's THAT talented.

He SHOULD win DPOY, but unfortunately Jared Allen will probably win because of he is on a very good team and has the sexy sack numbers. Demarcus Ware was penalized last year because he was on the Cowboys . . .

Jared Allen is as worthy as Revis IMO, winning team or not. The guy is a monster this year.

But we will be crying about his contract holdout rookie year and ended up giving him a 5 year deal instead of 6. Oh well. Do you know what the exact contract is regarding that 6th year option?
