The new Post a Picture you took thread
I wanted to share some more photos, so instead of inundating the board with a new thread every time I had something ot share, I thought I'd start this thread. I know we used to have an old one that was very similar.
I took a trip to Washington DC and Arlington National Cemetery this past weekend and got a few good shots. For a political history nerd like myself, the trip was simply awesome. I visited a lot of places I never have before, and the whole experience was definitely worthwhile. Great pics pauliec. I love DC. Before I was married, I would go down there several times a year to hang out with a buddy of mine. I'm a US history buff and love all of the museums and especially the monuments.
I obviously didn't take this pic but I was still buzzing from the game today and decided to create this on photoshop. I posted it in the Landing Strip. It got a bunch of views but no comments. Maybe someone had already done the same thing so it wasn't new but I had never seen it done with this pic. Anyway I think it looks really cool. I was trying to figure out how to remove color from just elements of a photo but not the whole thing. The problem is, I don't have photoshop, I only have the stock iPhoto that came with my Mac. |

Is it weird that of the 500+ pictures I took on my honeymoon a few years ago, this is my favorite?

Don't believe you can do that with iPhoto, Paulie, but there's plenty of free software out there, for Mac specifically, that's just as good as Photoshop. I used this for a bit before I got new software: http://www.gimp.org/ |

It's a pretty basic "entry level" DSLR, and I'm thinking of getting a new lens soon and maybe a new camera in a year or so. |

I took this picture of my daughter and then used the website "Picnik" to alter the colors. Not as advanced as photoshop, and my camera is certainly not as good as your appears to be...but the website seemed to work good for the minor alterations I've done with some of my home photos...
