Lav Coles... perfect for the slot?
the guy still caught 450 yards and 5 TD's last year as a number three. I can't see how he wouldn't succeed in the slot for us, the guy is tough as nails and never shies away from contact, he may not run in the 4.2's anymore but heck he's still plenty fast in my opinion, can't hurt to squeeze another year from him.

I'm beginning to come around to the idea that the best scenario for us is to bring back someone like Coles on a 1 year deal, AND draft a slot WR in the mid rounds to groom behind him.

I'd rather have Clowney or Allison battle out for the slot.
If you are going to go with a vet, why not Kevin Curtis, if he's healthy? |

I prefer to spend an early round pick on a WR, but I wouldn't be overly upset if they decided to bring in a vet like Coles and draft one in the mid to late rounds to groom behind him.

Golden Tate..Cotchery is clutch..tough as nails but doesn't exactly scare defensive coordinators..Edwards has had a very inconsistent career..He can dominate but cab also dissappear..Give Sanchez (who is the fanchise qb) one more young talented weapon to grow with.

I would rather draft a player for the slot than bring back Coles. He is a whiner and has had injury problems the past few season.

If Coles is still around after the draft and we don't get the kind of player we are looking for It would not shock me to see the Jets bring him in.

saying coles is finished our is not good enough to be our #3..idk just seems silly to me. Coles would be a very welcome addition.

He's one head shot away from joining Chrebet in the stands.

Lav Coles is definitely not welcome as far as I'm concerned. Never one of my favorite Jets, he has a horrible attitude and at 32 is not fit for the type of slot receiver we need. Why do people keep pushing for older, beat-up receivers at the slot??? Kevin Curtis and Lav Coles would be half-assed band-aids for one season and its doubtful they'd stay healthy for all 16 games. Lets actually address the position with a draft pick so we don't have to keep thinking about off-season. Our offense is young (Chez, Greene, Braylon, Keller, D'Brick/Mangold) so why break from that? The sooner our future, long-term receiver gets in sync with Chez the better. Anyway, I want no part of Coles and feel it'd be a complete joke to bring him back for a second time. |

Ugh, I really don't like the idea of bringing back Coles. But it's getting to the point that we really NEED to. It's sad. But David Clowney is not the answer.
Coles for 1 year and a rookie like Emmanuel Sanders is beginning to sound like the only option unless they draft a WR high. |

I support Coles as a temporary solution to the Slot Position. His production last year in a #3 role was and is vastly superior to any on-roster #3 we currently have. He is an unquestionable upgrade at #3 WR.
While I have no problem drafting a WR for the slot, it is simply not a vital need, and cannot cost us a high-round pick. If we can do better than Coles in the 5th or later, great, do it. If not, snag Coles, and draft WR next year. We have other more pressing needs in the road to a title IMO than #3 WR. |
