Bears release DE Alex Brown

durable, decent, still some gas in the tank, can wait a year before spending a high pick on a DE. |

He would be a 3-4 OLB in our defense. Will be a good pickup for some team.

There's no way Alex Brown would be able to transition to OLB. No way. |

I would hate to see another 4-3 DE trying to figure out how to play coverage as the opposing offense targets them and throws at them every play. We need to find the right players for the right positions and not try to convert 30 year old players to positions they've never played.

Didn't say I would want him. Didn't say he would succeed at that position. But his build is more like a 3-4 OLB rather than a 3-4 DE. |
