Chicago Rush remain atop AFLWA poll in Week 4
04/28/2010 8:13 AM
The Tulsa Talons lost by just a point on the last play of the game, but the 77-76 defeat to the Arizona Rattlers was enough to drop them three places to No. 5 in the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA) Top 8 Poll.

Arizona (2-1) used the victory over Tulsa (2-1) to move into the rankings at No. 4.

The Chicago Rush (4-0) remained No. 1, receiving 10 of 11 first-place votes and totaling 87 points. The other first-place vote went to the No. 2 Milwaukee Iron (3-0), the league’s only other unbeaten team.

Milwaukee moved up a space, as did the No. 3 Spokane Shock (2-1).

The AFLWA, founded at the start of the 2004 season, is a national organization made up of media members who cover the Arena Football League. Mark Anderson of Pro Football Weekly and the Las Vegas Review-Journal is the AFLWA's founder and executive director. The website is www.aflwa.com.

CHICAGO HOLDS ON TO TOP SPOT IN WEEK 4 COACHES POLL
TULSA – The Chicago Rush have remained at the top of the Coaches Poll for the second week in a row. The Rush have been ranked No. 1 three out of the four weeks that coaches polls have taken place. Tulsa was top-ranked in Week 2.
Chicago most recently handed Utah their third loss of the season, defeating the Blaze 63-40. Overall, the Rush are one of two remaining undefeated teams with the victories split home and away. Milwaukee, the other remaining undefeated, jumped a spot to No. 2 this week on the heels of their 72-61 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm. Spokane also jumped a spot to No. 3 despite being on a bye last week. In their most recent game, the Shock defeated the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings to give the ‘Wings their first loss of the season.
The Tulsa Talons dropped two places from No. 2 to No. 4 this week after their 76-77 loss to the Arizona Rattlers on Friday night. As a result, Arizona rose two places to No. 5. No teams moved more than two places from last week’s results.
