Summer Camps.

Can anyone recommend a good one for a 14 year old boy?

He's never been...and needs (WE NEED) some time away.

I'm afraid he'll go in as Beaver Cleaver and come out as PlumberKong.

Ah, I remember my summer camp when I was 14, It was called working at Burgerville USA. Nothing but fond memories of that place, all the high school cheer squad worked there.:).
The summer before that was mowing lawns, before that I had to pick strawberries, that was truly the suck.

Anyhows maybe you could use your usetobeacop connections to get the young man a job.
Just a thought.

Just bad parenting, sending them to camp.

Swim! Play softball! Climb the rock wall! Arts and crafts! Hike! Swing rope into the lake!

Insane what some parents will force their young kids to do.

....touch boobies for the first time. terrible thing that summer camp.

There is plenty of time to let a kid work for the summer and learn the importance of hard work and earning some coin. Nothing wrong with sending a kid to camp for the summer and giving him lifelong memories.

Word.

Like paying the CIT's 5 bucks to go across the lake to the old people part of the camp and steal kosher wine used for shabbot on the last night, drink the entire bottle, and proceed to throw up in your own sleeping bag in the same night.

Not like that every happened to me or anything.

I can see my input is being well received so here is some more.

We don't have much for children summer camps in the pacific north west., other then church camps.

When I was a youngen my folks would send me and my brother off to my aunt and uncles they had two boys also, and then Uncle Bob would take his trailer to the Alsea river and leave us boys and
Aunt Vernie to have fun for the week, and we did have fun.

Maybe that would be an option if you have some family willing to do that, or maybe some one who owes you money could entertain the boy.

And the church camp might be an option if you don't mind the whole programing thingy.
