Eagles quarterback Mike Vick, who remains on federal probation following a two-year prison term for dogfighting, celebrated his 30th birthday with a party at a Virginia Beach club. And, apparently, one of the games was pin the tail on the donkey.

With bullets.

A shooting reportedly occurred as the club was closing. A fight broke out, and then someone whipped out the ultimate peacemaker.

[URL="http://www.wtkr.com/news/wtkr-vick-scene,0,4803343.story"]One man was shot[/URL], per WTKR, which also cites unnamed sources in reporting that the shooting occurred at the party. The victim initially refused treatment but then went to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman said that the victim and witnesses were being "uncooperative."

The [URL="http://twitpic.com/1vd944"]invitation to the party[/URL] boasted that Redskins cornerback [URL="http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=2773"]DeAngelo Hall[/URL] and Colts safety [URL="http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=3998"]Antoine Bethea[/URL] would be attending, along with former NBA star Allen Iverson. (That is, we think they meant Antoine Bethea of the Colts; the invitation says "Antwoine.")

Though there's no indication that Vick was involved in the shooting, the mere fact that someone possibly came to the birthday party of a guy on federal probation with a gun in his (or her) possession could invite the feds to examine very closely whether Vick has honored all terms of his supervised release -- which usually includes not hanging out with folks who carry guns.

i dont think vick should be held responsible for this. yes it was his party, but you cant control what idiots do or bring to a party.

I hear you but yes you can..You tell everyone before they walk in the door, "no crap, I'm not going back to jail and you are going with me if anything you do causes me to".

And he should know all the conditions of his probation and if he's in the presence of guns it could violate his probation than he should be frisking everyone as they walk in the door.

good point. i guess either you limit who you invite and put specific instructions on the invitations..

Really sad/pathetic that Vick kept around some of his pals who were in the dogfighting saga. Didn't he get the message about surrounding himself with better people and people who won't drag him down, AGAIN!?
