Love it, not everything can be peaches and cream, I almost hope Ryan kicks off training camp with a little more mustard in his approach. They've been reading their press clippings all off-season, would be good for Ryan to set the tone early that nothing won't come without hard work and focus.

his nickname
His nickname should be silent McNight. Leon is better with one healthy leg.

It's not a huge deal but this kid should feel embarrassed at this point.

nyjets: EA: McKnight will be counted as part of the Jets' 80-man TC roster. But he can't practice until he passes the run. ![]() He's a RUNNING back!?!?!?!?! ![]() We, maybe just speaking for myself, have to remember this is a 4th rounder. We're gonna miss the (pre-injury) Leon factor that we got used to the last 4 years. |

This is definitely disappointing because he wasn't in shape in the mini camps and OTA's either.

Is this guy for real? Epitomy of the modern day lazy professional athlete...just show up and get paid, no hard work, no dedication, no heart.

Our new version of Leon Washington can't even pass his conditioning test. Love how guys become Jets and their instant all-pro's. Homers.

When I met Westoff back in June, he basically said he hated the guy. Said he had a LOT to learn, needed to start to get it and called him a "twerp". Thought he needed to get a lot bigger and stronger. Apparently in better shape too.
Unfortunate, really want to like this guy, but it's starting to sound like he's got the silver spoon affliction. Coddled since he was in HS, annointed the heir apparrent to Bush at USC. Hope our guys kick is azz and make him a ball player. _ |

McKnight to Active Non-Football List Tops Late Roster Moves
Posted by Eric Allen on July 29, 2010 – 9:00 pm Three days before the Jets report for their 2010 Training Camp in Cortland, NY, the team made a number of player moves. Running back Joe McKnight, a fourth round pick from USC, was placed on the Active Non-Football injury list after failing his conditioning test. McKnight, who battled cramping and dehydration at the Jets’ rookie minicamp, won’t be able to practice with the team until he passes the test but still is considered active and thus will be part of the club’s 80-man training camp roster. The Jets will head to the practice field Monday without QB Erik Ainge. The third-year passer, originally a fifth-round selection from Tennessee in 2008, was placed on the Reserve Non-Football list with an undisclosed illness. After signing veteran Mark Brunell on Wednesday, the on-field QB stable at the beginning of next week will include Mark Sanchez, Brunell, Kellen Clemens and Kevin O’Connell. New York’s AFC representative also made a player swap on the defensive side of the ball, signing S Emanuel Cook and releasing LB Ezra Butler. Cook, a South Carolina product, signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent, was released prior to the ’09 campaign and spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad last season. After playing collegiately at Nevada, Butler signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in 2008 and also played with the UFL’s Las Vegas Locomotives in ’09. |
