Mark Teixeira actually hurt his hand yesterday. He was diving for a ball in foul territory and slammed his hand into the hard ground. He felt it during batting practice but hoped adrenaline would take over. It didn’t. After one at-bat, he told Joe Girardi he couldn’t take another one.

“I wasn’t going to do the team any good today,” he said.

Teixeira is day-to-day with what he labeled as a bone bruise. His right hand was heavily wrapped in the clubhouse. While Girardi seemed optimistic Teixeira would play tomorrow, Teixeira seemed a little more uncertain. He’s going to test it when he gets to the park tomorrow.

“Will he play tomorrow? I hope so,” Girardi said. “I think it’s possible.”

I think it will happen

I don't think Pettitte comes back next year.I think he wil retire.

So with him,Vasquez and Nick Johnson's contracts ending I think that frees up close to 30 million.More than enough to sign Lee with a little left over.
