Cotchery a #1?
I know there has been a debate going on for a while here whether or not Cotchery is a #1. I was having an argument about this with a friend and think he is at most a solid #2. What do you guys think?

I voted #1.
I honestly think he's the best WR on our team. |

Here's hoping that GS3 under center, and Coples on
the edge works out.

He's a solid 2. He can't beat the attention a number one gets. He's not fast enough, or big enough to beat the press off the line, but he runs great routes, and has great hands. On our team he's the best #3 in the league now. This team is full of super units this year.

I think the value in Jerricho is that whom ever lines up on the other side becomes a much better option because of him.

At best a solid #2. He needs more speed and stop tripping over himself. Also could be better at catching. Just doesn't seem like much of a threat. Damm tough though. He's gotten his bell rung a few times and keeping playing.

lol at anyone thinking Cotchery is even close to being a #1.
Cotchery isn't and never was a #1. He is a solid player, and a great guy to root for, but can not take over games like #1's can. |

IMO cotch is a very solid WR but thats all...i know he hasnt got his touches this year, but he doent have the "big-play" threat to be a true #1. He's not going to keep Defenses up worried all night..he is a solid #2, he cant carry a WR core on a team.

Love Cotch but he is not in the elite league per se. Even Braylon, when he is at his best, seems to show a skill set that is not part of Cotch's arsenal. |

He's a solid #2, but I think he might be best suited for the slot. He's quick, has good hands, just not the speed you need to get a couple steps on cornerbacks. The Jets have never had the luxury of putting him there, until now.
X Santonio Holmes Y/TE Dustin Keller Slot Jerricho Cotchery Z Braylon Edwards You can't stop that. Oh, and this guy name Ladanian Tomlinson will be in the backfield. Last edited by Buzzsaw; 10-04-2010 at 06:32 PM. |

Now I am interested, lets see. Pats-No Fins-NO Bills-Mhm open for debate but probably not. Lee Evans pobably has more talent, the rest of the Bills just suck so bad so his numbers suck. Steelers-No Ravens-No Browns-Probably not, Mossaqoui is much more gifted physically. Bengals-No Texans-No Colts-No Jags-Possibly, Simms-Walker hasn't done anything this year. Titans-Maybe. Not if Kenny Britt ever got his head right. Cheifs-No Chargers-No Broncos-Can not judge in that offense. Raiders-Not with the emergence of Luis Murphy Skins-No Giants-No Cowboys-No Eagles-No Bears-No Packers-No Lions-No Vikings-No Falcons-No Saints-No Bucs-No Panthers-No Cards-No Rams-Depends on if Clayton keeps it up Seahawks - YES 49ers-No Doesn't look good for our boy. |
I voted #1.
I honestly think he's the best WR on our team.
Oh no, tell me you're drunk again! :P Seriously, I think Cotchery is an excellent #2 WR for most NFL teams including ours. But in a League with guys like Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Bradon Marshall, Randy Moss, Steve Smith, Santonio Holmes, and many others running around, Cotchery is just not quite there.....he's close, but he's not on the level of those guys. He's the #2 right now with Braylon in the lineup, he'll be #3 when Holmes is back. |

He's a good possession receiver.
Anyone who thinks he's a #1 doesn't know what a #1 WR in the NFL is supposed to be. |

There's NO reason to delay the process. Start Geno
Smith.

He's a very solid #2 WR who is now going to be the #3 WR on a championship caliber team.
