WEEI NFL POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 11

Here we go now!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports/newengland/football/patriots/2010/11/16/weei-nfl-power-rankings-week-11-2/
Fresh off a dominating win in Pittsburgh, Tom Brady and the Patriots soar back to the No. 1 slot in the WEEI NFL Power Rankings. The 2010 NFL season has been a strange one to say the least. There has yet to be a team to emerge as one of the league’s elite. However, a few teams have shown signs of greatness. The New York Jets (No. 2) fall into that category. The J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets irked out another victory in overtime and are on the doorstep of being called “the best”.

Two NFC teams jump into the top five. Michael Vick’s former team (Falcons No. 3) and his current team (Eagles No. 4) represent the NFC well at the top. Matt Ryan and the Falcons won again at home against a strong Ravens squad. Meanwhile, the Eagles dominated their game against the Redskins in which they opened up the first quarter with 28 points (the best start for a road team, ever).

Finally, the No. 32 spot is occupied by a new owner. After a Bills victory, the Carolina Panthers now have the unpleasant title of “Worst team in the league”.
Not that I care much who is number one, but that team the Jets "irked" out a victory over absolutely dismantled the "#1" team a mere two weeks ago.

Where did those ranking come from again?

You sorta can:

Jets beat Pats convincingly.

Pats were killed by Browns.

Jets beat Browns.

But I can't get too excited about it.

All signs pointing to another epic matchup with the Pats in a few weeks and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Bingo.

Jets should have been ranked above the Pats up until the Jets lost to the Packers. Jets should have gone back in front after the Pats lost to the Browns, both teams won this week so the Pats shouldn't have jumped ahead pf the Jets, especially since the Jets racked up over 400 yards and held the ball for over 47 minutes against a Browns team the Pats couldn't do anything against last week.

Having said that, what do you expect from the New England media?

what is the best/favorite victory against new england for the folks on the board? I know we haven't beaten them too much lately but the win last year i think was my favorite followed closely by the 2008 road win although its more fun beating the pats with brady in there

Yes, in football terms, the Browns spanked the Pats two weeks ago, as in two games ago.

Thought you were talking about the Jets.

We haven't dismantled anybody lately, especially a #1 team.

Didn't say they did, but the Jets haven't been dismantled like the Pats were recently.

NFL Power Rankings Week 11: Jets Reclaim Top Spot, Pats Second

http://www.casinogamblingweb.com/gambling-news/sports-gambling/nfl_power_rankings_week_11_jets_reclaim_top_spot_pats_second_56028.html
As we move further into the NFL season, not much has changed as far as any team distinguishing themselves as the elite team in the league. In our NFL power rankings for week 11, a team that was on top early in the year has reclaimed their position.

The New York Jets may not have been winning pretty the past couple of weeks, but they have been victorious nonetheless. New York won their second straight overtime game against a mediocre team on Sunday, and that resolve vaulted them back to number one in the rankings.
2010 NFL Power Rankings: Week 11 ESPN

http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings

ESPN.com
For the third time in as many weeks, there's a new leader of the ESPN.com NFL Power Rankings.

The Atlanta Falcons lead the poll of our experts, a fitting vault from No. 3 after defeating the Week 10-leading Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. According to our archives dating to 2002, the Falcons are atop our rankings for the first time in franchise history. They'll have their mettle tested in Week 11 with a visit to the No. 23 St. Louis Rams, who have a four-game home winning streak.

The New England Patriots, who were our leaders entering Week 9 play, are No. 2 in this edition. The New York Jets, the Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers round out the top five.

The Patriots are preparing for their seemingly annual showdown with the Indianapolis Colts, now rated No. 10. Another marquee game this week features the No. 6 Philadelphia Eagles playing host to the No. 8 New York Giants.

The Carolina Panthers make their season debut in the No. 32 spot.
Week 10 Power Rankings FOX

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings
Well, that's it. I give up. Any team I put at No. 1 can't hold the spot for more than a few weeks. We should just start the rankings at No. 2 since you could probably find five to seven teams who deserve to be ranked in that area, but none of them deserve to be ranked at No. 1.

I still think the Giants are the best team when you examine their personnel from both sides of the ball. However, they now have major injury issues to deal with. Any team is capable of laying an egg in a given week. That's what happened to them against the visiting Cowboys. That was their one mulligan.
Power Rankings: Falcons get turn on spinning top CBS

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/powerrankings
Late last Thursday night, I told Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith and general manager Thomas Dimitroff something that made them cringe.

"I think just watched one of the two best teams in the NFC," I said. "The Giants and Falcons have the two best teams in the conference."
I agree. The Giants absolutely butt-whooped the Cowboys and....OH WAIT! :rotfl:
