We have been UNLUCKY to be in these close situations
This whole "the jets are so lucky" thing is such BS.
Aside from the countless dropped passes, questionable penalties, dropped interceptions, etc... Against the Broncos: Horrific PI calls move bronco drives all day. Lions: Pryce roughing the kicker turns a FG into a TD. Browns: Three missed field goals, two amazing catches by TEs in PERFECT coverage by two safties and Revis. 99/100 times those passes are not completed. Texans: Missed field goal, fumble after forward progress has stopped, broken coverage, non-call on blatant holding on blitzing safety. So yea, stop with the Jets are lucky crap, we could have EASILY won all three of these games if not for bad breaks. |

See, you just debunked the whole "luck" argument completely.
The Jets had unlucky moments in each of the games they went on to "luckily" win. It's stupid. The only thing mattering is wins and losses. |

However, there's no denying we were FORTUNATE in those games. We didn't play to our potential, and therefore needed certain things to happen a certain way to come away with the victory. We need to get to the point where we force the other team to BEAT us (as opposed to beating ourselves). Rex keeps saying he'll figure it out, and I sure hope he does. But until that happens, we'll likely have to rely on things happening the way they have the last few weeks . . . |

For me the only game we got 'lucky' was Detriot where we played sloppy and took advantage of a late injury to Stafford and some questionable play-calling by the Lions inside the last two minutes. Other than that we deserved to beat the Bronocs, Browns and Texans as we were the better team through four quarters of regulation (and the ot in Cleveland). The fact we won those games late on is irrelevant, we made the game-winning plays when we had to.
On the flipside we were unlucky to lose to the Ravens. So we should have lost to Detriot but beat Baltimore which would give us the 8-2 record we currently have but a better Conference record. In the end, all the coulda, woulda, shouldas balance themselves out over a season and you end up with the record you deserve. For the Jets right now, we deserve to be 8-2. |

Last year we were 4-6 at this point. We've doubled our win output at this point.
Last year we don't win these games, we lost them: Dolphins twice Jacksonville Bills Atlanta We could easily have had way more wins, but we didn't This year we're winning those games (which seems to be every game). Dolphins - last drive Vikings - last drive by Favre Broncos - took lead at the end Lions - OT Browns - OT Texans - last drive We could have lost all of these, but we didn.t Last year we probably lose a few of these. |
