IIRC, that's actually a famous letter.

It's mentioned in one (or more) of those old NFL Films videos from the early 1980s.

It's also referenced by others. Of course, it may be a bit of an urban legend, because in the legal field the letter, or something like it in response to some other stupid complaint made by someone is well known.
