MetLife to test security system

MetLife to test security system

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Entering MetLife Stadium for New York Jets, New York Giants and other sporting events may not take so long for fans any more.

The Jets and Giants will be testing a new, automated security screening system for preseason NFL games and other events in August and September that its developers say is faster and non-intrusive than being searched by security personnel.

Developed by Qylur Security Systems, the kiosk is completely automated and self-service, handling five times the crowd flow compared to current checkpoint methods that are manned by security personnel using wands and pat-downs.

The system, which is being piloted at the stadium during the next two months, was recently demonstrated at Liberty State Park and at the World Cup FIFA preliminary draw event in Rio de Janeiro.

The Qyler system is designed specifically for major public venues such as stadiums, amusement parks, airports, public transportation and other locations. When using the system, fans will walk through what looks like a plexiglass doorway to be screened. Anything they carry will be screened by a machine.

Better safe than sorry. Go with the hollowed out wheelchair approach and you'll get to skip those lines all together.

Go with clear booze in a water bottle. Since the end of last year the policy is only unopened bottles, so superglue the the top on after you fill it.

I keep the bottle closed and bring an extra cap in my pants and put it on after security takes it off. I wonder if this new system will catch me. If it does, then the 3 million they spent will be well worth it. Gezz

I asked the guy patting me down if he was the new security system. He said it had slowed things down so much they had to stop using it and go back to the pat down.

FYI superglueing the top back on the water bottle after filling with Sambuca worked like a charm... he cracked the top and handed it back to me

What's your problem with irradiation.
It's for "safety's sake"!!!!
Maybe you can schedule future chemotheraphy with other Jets fans so it'll be just like a game experience... Sad and Painful.

At least you can choose to avoid going to games,
wifi, cell phones signals are everywhere... no chance of avoiding them...

Sounds like the system has been in place for over a year already. Jets haven't been able to throw one bomb!
