I remember very well. My parents split as I entered 7th grade; I found myself in Sag Harbor for about 5 years. I think I was about 16 when that came out, and as usual I was hitch hiking, to East Hampton to go bowling. Older guys I knew as the local high school "legends" picked me up for a long ride down HWY 114. Custard Pie and the Rover were playing and there was a terrific buzz about Physical Graffitti among those guys. (on 8 track :P) It was like the Gods descended to lift me onto a cloud of joy and excitement.
The hitching home was the suck. :( |

I was a bit too wee in 1971. However, I did sleep out to buy Achtung Baby as soon as it came out in 1991. |

Close enough. ;) It was probably '80 or so before I discovered that album in my sister's record collection, swiped it, and listened to it on my $20 turntable until it was nearly unlistenable-to. |

The oft-talked about "Swan Song", an outtake from the album.
