i love the "what about us" threads
people forget that the NFL is privately held entertainment... we treat it like it's an extension of the US gov't... like there's a clause in the bill of rights guaranteeing life liberty and the pursuit of the Super Bowl. |

If you are that upset then do not watch the games when they come back. Give up your tickets. Vote with your feet and walk away. |
We're simply 'consumers'. And in the business sense, a lock out does not mistreat us in any way--like by making the consumer pay an unreasonable amount of money for a necessity. The product is simply not being offered. Being mad at the players and ownership for no football is like telling somebody they must keep their business open so you can conveniently buy goods or use a service, even while the business is reluctant to stay open. Its a free country. If they don't want to work, they shouldn't have to.
Think of the angst when you find yourself face to face with your wife and 1:30 on a Sunday with no excuse for not going to the mall with her. NFL Players should be considered essential workers with no right to strike. NFL owners should be considered as if they were entrusted to provide an essential service with any threat of shutting down sevice countered by a government takeover of operations. The NFL is like heating oil, food and shelter without out it our way of life is unsustainable. |

As a Fan, the only person looking out for Me, is Me. As it should be. Frankly, other than my purchase of entertainment, I have no stake in the fight, so the only "looking after me" thats needed is a simple "do I care now, will I care later" self-evaluation. Asking such a question as the OP is like asking the Beatles, on the eve of theri breakup, "what about me! A Fan!". It's a bit silly. |
