Big win last night for NYRB.

They looked pretty good doing it.

They dominated the ball, but did give up a couple scoring chances. LA didn't have Keane or Donovan and started a young squad with little to play for. Good job by the fans filling the stadium on a tuesday rescheduled night.

So we need to beat a superior opponent without our best player? Any other way to make playoffs?

I watched the game. Looked like they were in control most of the way. I'm hoping they can pull it off, I'd like to go to another home playoff game (Though last year was a bit of a debacle)

What's the likelihood on that? What's the seeding? They would need at least a couple upsets right?

Was there last night, and came away feeling that RB played a bit better than they have been lately, without Henry. Thought Solli should have been man of the match. Rafa was on form as well, while the usually solid Lindpere seemed out of it. Damn Philthy fans travel well and were a loud bunch.

Is the wildcard a knockout round or is it a home and away?

Wildcard is knockout.

I'm curious, how full was the stadium? I wanted to go, it looked only to be about 2/3 filled (at most), but pretty loud crowd.

So after the wildcard round it is "home and away." How exactly does that work?

Yes. It goes to aggregate. One home match and one away match. Whoever wins the combined score moves on. If there is a tie after 2 legs, road girls are the first tie-breaker. if road goals are even, they play 30 minute extra time and penalties if necessary.

If they win this week, they play LA next round.

That makes it interesting. No more keep-away after the first goal. We'd better hope Rodgers can go.

It was pretty full. I had a couple neighborhood kids tag along without tickets, and the will call was sold out. I quickly texted a friend who was there with his 4 season seats, luckily he had 2 unused as he had just received a call from his RB ticket agent and was told to pick up 2 "special" seats to pick up prior to the game at the will call window.

He asked me to go with him, and take advantage of what he thought would be a free drink or two and possibly some snacks. We sent the kids in to his season seats and we were given wristbands and escorted to the private lounge all the way through the back of club lounge. There were about 10 others inside, open premium bar, carving station, sushi chef, and a lovely assortment of cheeses, crackers and meats. A few minutes before KO, a buxom brunnette in business attire asked the group to follow her to our seats. Down a private staircase, into the bowels of RBA we went, only to come out directly behind the SouthWard goal. Most of us thought she got lost, but she kept going and sat us all along the sideline in our assigned high rise directors chairs with our own snack/drink tables and personal waitstaff. Best seats for any sporting event I have ever had.

Hopefully they can get by Dallas tonight w/o Rodgers.

Would Donovan be back? We dominated when he was gone.

I'm a little shocked the MLS is trying to go right at the NFL. Seriously, 3pm Sunday. I know the Jets are off this week, and thus I'm doing "family stuff". But who's going to watch that game.

Also, and I know it's ESPN doing their ESPN thing. But how about a little noise for their own product! Dallas/Red Bulls was a 90 Second highlight piece about 20 minutes into the program. That's only annoying because there were so few sports last night.

I'm surprised they make no effort to trumpet their own product. It's been my expeience that people tune in for playoffs a little bit more, but they have to know it's going on. Couldn't ESPN spend some of their NBA lockout production on MLS highlights?

First leg of the playoff is Sunday at 3 PM at Red Bull Arena.

Just got a ticket in Section 133, Row 7 in the Supporters Section. Can't wait.

Sweet. Im talking with my one friend who likes soccer about possibly going. I have to coach a basketball game at 10 but I can head to Harrison from Brooklyn at noon. Really would like to go.

Should be a blast. My friend bought 8 tickets and filled all the seats within an hour, only $25 bucks a piece too. I'm actually going to be heading to RBA from Bay Ridge on Sunday morning.
