The Hamper Budget situation and potential Forum Shutdown thread

Negotiations are on-going but I hear things don't look good. They're trying to determine who is "essential personnel" and who would be furloughed. (Is 32's reign of error over before it even gets started?)

They're trying to cut spending and threads to balance the forum. Fish is fighting for his Pictures thread but his arguments aren't holding water, something about, "it's essential like the National Weather Service...what about my lolcats and Leonardo DiCaprio walking?"

I didn't even know we had 800,000 threads.

Anyone haz more sources? Do we shutdown at midnight?

I say we cut the mod staff in half in order to save money. They really don't deserve their positions anyway. I contributed hard-earned VIP membership dues to get better service from this shiftless lot. I mean really, what do they do around here outside of stopping nipplage or banning someone making disparaging comments about deceased relatives? :rolleyes:
