1983 all over again?
Starting to get the feeling that Ryan Mallet is going to be the Dan Marino of this year's draft. Very much the same pre-draft talk.....immobile,drug issues, bad guy, etc. 5 teams passed on Marino in 1983,and we know the rest of that story. Wonder if history repeats itself this year? Personally, think Mallet is 2nd QB taken in draft, probably by mid first round. What do you guys think?

IMO Mallet is much closer to Jeff George than to Dan Marino million dollar arm, 10 cent brain |

This QB class will be lucky to produce 1 above average starter in my opinion.

i don't think a 10 cent brain is a very astute judgement. at all really. His lack of mobility in the pocket has everything to do with his concerns.
Tough to say what will happen, but Mallet has the best shot at being "that guy". Gabbert and Newton, Ponder and Dalton could all easily have more success in the NFL than Ryan Mallet, but if someone said "one of these guys is gonna be huge", Mallet and his arm have the most upside. |

Obsessed much? I'm picturing you in a darkened room in your mom's basement, muttering insanely to yourself as you post in on JI and stick pins in a Brian Schottenheimer voodoo doll. "Laces out Dan!!" :madman: |

Mallett feels like a taller version of Chad Henne to me.....not too impressed.
I think the only QB's I'd consider drafting at their current draft values are Ponder or Kapernick.....the rest are way overrated this year. Last edited by Ven0m; 04-18-2011 at 02:02 PM. |
