This is why we are so F. SS and Medicare are untouchable because we all have paid into it for what was advertised as a guaranteed pension. They even send me statements every year just like my private pension plans do telling me how much I put in and what I'm entitled to.

What they failed to tell everyone is without the government being fiscally responsible Medicare and SS would either not live up to its obligations or the government would have to inflate the currency and not report the corresponding inflation in order to destroy the value of the benefit.

The Ryan plan cuts benefits that people expect. The President’s plan cuts benefits that people expect. Seniors who have paid into this system for decades aren’t going to be rolled over by the ugly facts that Democrats and Republicans have been so irresponsible with their money that their benefits no longer exist as advertised.

Both Ryan and the President kick the savings down the road. Down the road the Congress and the President will face the same problem with the electorate they face now as the reason to kick it down the road. The projected savings that the CBO, the President or Paul Ryan tells us are going to happen is nonsense.

When we are all crushed by inflation and our worthless currency real painful austerity is going to be needed.

You do realize that most of the riots going on around the world are mostly about food and energy prices. If the Fed keeps monitizing the debt and allows our government officials to continue to spend their asses off there are likely to be food riots in the good old USA.

Let me get this straight the Dems took over the entire Congress in 06 the Presidency in 08 and since then we have escallated the war in AG and entered a war in Libya.

I think we should end the wars today withdraw troops from most of the world and take a chain saw to the military.

Granted when it comes to war and the military the Republicans won't touch it. On the other hand what is the justification of expanded wars and expanded entitlements under the Democrats that is absolutely maulling the middle class with inflation.

End the Wars, End Millitary Basing in places like Germany, S.Korea and Japan, and do a top-to-bottom evaluation of Millitary spending and programs to ensure we're #1 in tech. and lethality in conventional service, while being as cheap (and as safe for the troops) as possible.

Does that sound like "not reducing millitary spending a penny"?;)

The Democrats aren't taking care of the most vulnurable in our society. They are taking care of middle class Union workers. The Health care bill kept in place huge tax deductions for their gold plated health benifits.
