Who do the Jets take on the 2nd day?

IMO

the jets trade up into the second and draft either Justin Houston  or Akeem Ayers.

This would make for a great early draft imo, taking care of our two top needs.

only thing that i see impeding the trade up is the lack of ability for teams to trade players right meow.

i would like to see the jets be aggressive on day two, trading up to take ayers, houston or bowers.

I like Moore in the second round for the Jets. Anyone else? Pass rushers seem so hit or miss when it comes time to play in the NFL. Revisit a lot of last years players for example....

I like tanni's approach less is more... id like to see the jets move up early in to the second round to take a top/high tier player. I think there are a few on the board that could help the jets and make an immediate impact.

I'm not all that anxious to trade next years picks, Tanny can Trade up 10 spots from 94 to about 84 using his fourth round pick, but thats about it. Give Tanny a chill pill, and let's be patiant...My guys at 94, OLB KJ Wright, CB Rashad Carmichael and WR Tandon Doss

+1.....i would try to go up really early in the 2nd round and get ayers.....bowers will probably be off the board very early in the 2nd round

What would it take to move back into the 2nd? Would a 3rd this year and next year's 2nd do it? I suck at pick valuation.

I think it would probably take next years second and possibly a 5th or 6th rounder... maybe more if we go for ayers or bowers, but that level of talent in the second round is too good to pass up on with an aging line backer core.

I would love to see us move up and get Ayers -- he is an NFL ready OLB with no warts at all. If, somehow, we also manage to get Moore I would be ecstatic. Wilkerson, Ayers & Moore would be a killer draft.

ayers is not the pass rusher everyone thinks he is.

hes a solid player, but he really is hard a pass rushing specialist. He is good, and if we had a 2nd id be OK with drafting him if he fell to us. He is also very shaky against the run.

I would trade up for Justin Houston tho, he better fits the mold of the edge rusher we need.

i wouldn't be too excited about a draft that would amount to basically wilkerson and ayers or houston.

i feel like everyone forgot about houston, he has better size, production, and technique.

Houston is a one-trick donkey. He will be toast playing in space, if he ever sees the field for more than one play per series. If you just want an edge rusher, OK. But he is what he is.

So far as Ayers "being shaky against the run", where are you coming from? Mars?

From the top of my head without looking back over my draft lists:

Bowers
Ayers
M Wilson
B Reed
B Carter
C Carter
Houston
Acho
Moch
Sheard

- That's 10 potential DE-OLB pass rush prospects still sitting there for the taking. Very doubtful that they all go in the 62 picks before the Jets are up. So I like the chances of a couple of decent OLB prospects being there for the Jets at #94.

And that's just looking at one position....lots of other quality players at other positions of need (CB, S, WR, Oline, NT, TE) still on the board. So I am very optimistic that if we just sit tight, a quality prospect who can help the team this year will be there for the Jets.

Same here. I think he's going to be a good one and can probably play OLB and ILB in our scheme. It't be great to infuse our front 7 with two talented young kids.

We gotta stop acting like we're "one player away". Truth is, we already have enough talent to go all the way, but players like Sanchez (and coaches like Schotty) need to prove they have what it takes to get us there. If they don't, we're more than one player away anyway.

It feels GREAT to be in this position. Let's see who falls to us and round out our team best we can. But let's stop acting like we have so many holes to fill, and have to sacrifice the future to do it . . .

With 94th pick, some guys who may be there for us. Marcus Gilchrist(SS from Clemson),Tyler Sash(SS from Iowa),Kendrick Ellis(NT) Chris Carter( DE/olb). Any of these would be good additions to our D.
