Steven Friday is intriguing, so is Kendric Burney...
Friday came on like gang busters for VT as a senior had 8.5 sacks and 15 tackles for loss as a starting DE, he goes 6.4 240 or so runs in the 4.6 range. Went undrafted because he's so raw, but the potential is there:
http://www.hokiesports.com/football/...ay_steven.html Kendric Burney the corner from Carolina is a nice player, not very fast but quick as a rabbit, perfect in the nickel. The kind of player who can stay with the likes of Welker and Bess, but would struggle against the taller faster receivers. |

Sucks that these UDFA's are all going by the wayside, the NFL should've allowed an extra couple of days to sign these guys, teams get two or three every year from the UDFA pool to contribute, sometimes even as rookies.

I like Friday as a developmental OLB but Burney not a good fit to play man in Rex's scheme.

As you probably remember, i had us drafting Friday in multiple mocks in the 5-6th rounds. If went the DE way early (which we did), Friday was a major target for OLB for me...
(still bitter about passing on Chris Carter 87 times tho...) |

him too.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND why we didn't bring in more UDFA, or spent a late pick on one. Something. OLB is one of those position that you actually stand a decent chance to strike gold on - being that it calls for such a specific skill set that can't always be tapped into in college. |
