DOW Jones = Latin for morons
http://www.newser.com/story/125180/stocks-rise-on-jobs-report-then-fall.html
This would fall under the category of "volatile" trading day: This morning's better-than-expected jobs report led to an early surge in the stock market: The Dow rose 170 points shortly after the opening bell, notes the Wall Street Journal. But the rally was a brief one: Around noon, the Dow was down more than 200 points. And an hour later, it was up 115, apparently thanks to a report that the European Central Bank was going to buy Italian bonds to soothe overseas markets.
ARGGH! We're scared!! We're not scared!! We're scared again!! We're not scared!! We're scared again!! The manginas that inhabit that place is mind blowing. The world would be a better place if Wall Street was consumed in a thermonuclear fireball. |

Smart investors are making a killing betting on volatility. The options markets are where the good plays are. I have a feeling that when the dust settles, there are going to be a lot of fundamentally undervalued companies out there ripe for the picking.

everyone makes these conclusions about the market that have nothing to do with the market
i.e. "the American people have had enough with Obama, that's why the market went down" so... why did it go up for 2 and half years prior to yesterday? it's not all about the USA, Italy and Greece debt deal are also influences. fwiw, right now the market is slightly up. |
