Kudos to Yahoo Sports for a heavy duty investigation of violations at "The U."

We all know it goes on, but this report really casts a bright light on NCAA violations at University of Miami. Embarrasing stuff. Implicated: Coaches, staff, Jonathan Vilma, Vince Wilfork, Willis McGahee, among many other big NFL names.

It was being done so boldly and nakedly, it makes the Reggie Bush violations look like tiddley winks.

Every program breaks the rules. Every. single. one. I refuse to give the NCAA any respect - they're more filthy than any school they've investigated. We just fuel the fire when we get happy about an "investigation."

Still the NCAA will come down hard on Miami again, this is the second time in 15 years, that school just can't police itself, it's going down this time, I'm hearing death sentence.

Could care less. The NCAA is so evil and corrupt that I actually applaud colleges that thumb their noses at the organization. Of course, the duplicitous money pilfering slavers will come down hard on the "U" in a pretentious completely phony ruling to protect the "integrity" of the game. They should all rot. I think I hate the hypocritical and completely corrupt NCAA and BCS leaders more than anything else in sports.

might they also report that donna shalala who was a secretary under clinton is also president of the university. she was also there when that safety kicked the kicker when he was lying on the ground and did nothing. shows how our government people are corrupt in and out of politics.

Yet another shining example why the NCAA needs to allow these kids start earning money (legally) and stop treating them like slaves while making billions off their backs. I will not watch college football for this reason

This is happening with so many schools now. If it was just one you could blame it on the program. But UM, UNC, USC, OSU, and on and on... When it's this many schools, and big ones, you have a systemic issue. Time for the NCAA to take a good long look at itself.

This school(or institution ala Rikers) has been a cesspool of what is wrong with college football for many years. Let's see if the NCAA has some cajones and issues a punishment of a 10 yr.ban of football scholarships. It's time to clean up these programs once and for all.

None of the players in those photos look very happy to be with that "booster".

He seems like kind of a deek.

Could not happen to a better school. UM has made fun of other schools and boasted they do it right - went to UF and live down here.

How many schools do yoiu think allow athletes to get hookers?? Pay bounties on other team players??

Back in the 90's when they first got popped, Dennis Erickson was drinking with freshman and getting drunk to where he could not walk out of bars. Players were accused of raping girls and covering it up. Even further back Michael Irvin ran over someones foot when they "disrespted " him.

Please - this school has been dirty from when Luthor Campbell used to pay players in the 80's and 90's. I have friends who went there and told me about crap that got covered up. Does it happen at other schools, yes - but not to this extent.

I think most D1 schools have one eye open and one eye shut. You really think the U is one of the few schools where the athletes are encouraged to take advantage of prepaid escorts? That comes across as naive on your part.

The U's arrogance is what puts the bulls eye on them. Ohio State's problems surprised many people just because coach wears a sweater vest. In the end, it doesn't matter how you dress or talk, because these are systemic issues and they start at the very top.

Yahoo deserves some sort of sports pulitzer (if there's such a thing), for the stories they've been putting out the past few years.
Between the NCAA and the NBA stuff, they've been incredible.

I just hope they never come sniffing around Notre Dame.

I have the privilege of going out to South Bend every now and then for work.

If any athlete is doing anything sexier than bowling, I think it will stand out pretty easily. The thing with being in Miami is that its almost expected for people to be doing coke off a hooker's ass. It becomes the norm, in a sense.

No need, Brian Kelly does it to himself. What is it, 2 dead kids in 2 years?

Don't forget MADD member Michael Floyd, what is it 14 strikes you're out?

The NCAA is full of crap, eats crap, and dishes out crap.

It's ridiculous the amount of money these school make off the free labor of student athletes. The ADs and coaches make 6 to 7 figure salaries off these students. A free tuition for a degree these athletes won't use is not equal compensation. Add the tough job market and it's worse.

Texas just signed a $300 million deal with ESPN to create their own network. The Texas football players that made this possible don't get a dime.

College athletes should be paid.
