This blows. I'm guessing he'll be out for atleast a month. And I'd rather he do that then rushing him back. Even though the oline will be shaky without him, still think we'll be OK up until that point.

Again the defense knows they were the only reason they aren't 2-0 today. Those guys have alot of pride(Seymour, Kelly, Houston Shaughnessy etc You can bet they are getting alot of grief in the papers and from the fans. Take it to the bank those guys will comeout looking alot diffrent. Also they should get mike Mitchell back as he a key guy in their subdefense packages. Mangold can't go your going to have troublke against raiders fierce front four. Say what yopu want about Fitspatrick but the guy is smart and will pick the correct wr to throw to. Lets se sanchez is capable of doing that. |

Not good, we face some tough defensive lines coming up.
I don't know how much faith I have in a rookie free agent center. At least he'll get the reps in practice |

Mangold is one tough SOB. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at center next Sunday , sprained ankle and all.
Unless you have complete trash at the position, center is just one of those positions that you can replace fairly easily.
The times that it hurts is really only when you are taking on 3-4 teams and it's not like New England plays that style as much anymore. Baltimore rarely plays Ngata over the nose so that's not huge there either.
Correct... |

Yes because the previous 38 NFL games have not asked this question. at last the Raiders provide us the opportunity to see if Sanchez can pick the right receiver to throw to .
Keep believing you don't need Mangold against the raiders. Thats a big loss against Raiders strength their front four. Good luck trying to run it or pass it with him out . There are alot of mismatches Raiders will have against Jets oline if mangold can't go. Jets can't beat the Raiders being one dimential on offense.
The worse news for the Jets is the way Raiders defense played that second half. That defense was gassed and it was embarrassed. Those guys will play alot better next sunday.
We haven't even thought about what we'll do without Mangold. Our first priority since the lockout ended was how to gameplan against the most athletic fullback in the league. |

Swallowing wasn't the issue for Oakland yesterday, Jody. They just got boned, and non-lubed, to boot. |

Not as tough as I normally would have expected. I actually was feeling pretty good. im estatic what I saw from the offense with alot of their key weapons still out. I told everyone on here if Raiders tackles hold up this offense could be as explosive as anyone. Nothing I saw yesterday says i was far off in my anaylsis. Every game LT jared veldheeer gets better and better(this guy after every practice is putting in extra work with the coaches- has the drive to be the best) Wow this rookie Wr Denarius moore is going to be something special. I like to see him and Ford become the starting Wr . with dhb coming in as slot reciever. |

if next week were the Super Bowl I'd agree with this but the Jets have alot of work to do this year I'd rather let Mangold heal up and have him firing on all cylinders down the stretch. None of the backup options are ideal but the Jets have Mangold signed long term we don't want him screwing his ankle up for good. |

When the Jets have trouble moving the football on raiders defense next week. you will know what I mean. Until than think your playing a jaguars type of defense. Outside of S Holmes and Keller + Cumberland the rest of your weapons are slow . |

Marcel reece is going to be matchup problems for you. A Lb or a safety aren't covering him. raiders should get their TE(K Boss) back this week . Jets are going to have problem with him. Jacoby Ford is healthy and Revis is on him . I like his chances. IF he even with you before balls thrown, he leaving you. |

Your not playing a Jaguars offense or the Raiders offense of two years ago. No Raideres match up very well with the Jets on ofense. Whose picking up a Darren Mcfadden or Marcel Reece out of backfield(both have legitimate WR skills that you can use there skills alot further down the field) Kevin Boss will be another mismatch as jets can't match up with that kind of Te. Raiders are one of the best screen teams out there and thats a nightmare for overagressive defense. (not to mention some gullible rookie Dlineman) Raiders have so much at Wr now, they can go to multiple WR sets and have some serious mismatches against your third and fourth CB while still having D Mcfadden in the backfield to worry about. Jets can't get to the Qb with their front four .(thats a serious problem) Hue jackson and AL Saunders are very familiar with this rex defense . They will be ready and know where to go to exploit this defense. |
I like you.
You bring the LOLz.
Tell me why do you think Revis had so much trouble against Santonio Holmes in practice. If you think Holmes is fast, than your in for a treat with Ford. Ford isn't some james Jett type who can run very fast in a straight line(very limited in patterns he can run) , this guy has some serious wr skills to go with that speed. YEs I like his chances on Revis. |
