WHY IS MATTHEW MULLIGAN STILL A JET?
This guy is awful. Cut his ass and send a message to guys like Wayne Hunter that stupidity and ineptitude will not be tolerated.
That is all. Great win yesterday. And yes, I know he put up a nice block on LT's TD... |

I've been posting this all day in various other threads. it would be one thing if yesterday were an anamoly, but it wasn't.
My hope is that this Shawn Nelson guy can step up and be the number 2 TE. I think Baker is a nice third te and a project, but he's not ready to be that guy just yet. |

That big jarhead is a severe liability at times, but can he clear a space or what? :D It's always exciting seeing #82 run out wide, and then come back to block down.
One day he'll catch a pass, and the Angels will sing! |

Rex must see something or else he would have been scuttled a long time ago.

He knows the playbook, that makes him better than any TE off the street by a wide margin in the short term. If Nelson shows he's got the goods over the next few weeks then he's expendable. But right now, cutting him would be a big mistake.
WHY IS MATTHEW MULLIGAN STILL A JET?
Because either the front office thinks he is the best available option at this moment, or because they've been unable to reach terms with a superior alternative as yet. Same reason every player "is still a Jet". /endthread |

The real answer to this issue (for next year) is simply teaching CUMBERLAND how to block...

I've been as anti-Mulligan as anyone. Guy needs to go.
He's a "blocking" TE who can't block and seems to specialize in drive murdering 10 yard holdings penalties. Get this guy off the team. |

it should be noted that Keller missed most of the first half with some kind of head issue that left Mulligan and Josh Baker
people want to cut him but they don't necessarily have a replacement all lined up. Mulligan is what he is a blocking TE/special teams guy. |
