Because of the lockout. They started making the schedule during the lockout thinking it would start a few weeks late.

So, even if the season started late, why would there be no teams with a bye this week and teams with a bye next week?

So the Jets could play a late game on Sunday and fly across two time zones to play the Bungcos on Thursday night.

I'm surprised they haven't yet asked the Jets to play both the Sunday and Monday night games. (One in London, of course.)

If the league is willing to F' the Jets for ratings, the least they could do is set up some sort of draft lottery and rig it so Luck becomes a Jets. I worked for the NBA and the Knicks!!!
