i agree with your assesment of the other teams...and i think the jets can certainly do that...its just a matter of IF they will....if the jets take advantage of the cake schedule from here on out then yes they absolutely should make the playoffs...

even the "experts" aren't disputing the jets schedule is soft.....its a matter of what the jets can do that remains to be seen or is in doubt.

Here's what I see questionable in your assessment. You have the Bengals, Titans, and Broncos losing every single game they play against an opponent that could remotely be called a tough matchup (I assume where you have the Titans losing to the Jaguars but beating the Texans you just got the outcomes reversed). But you have the Jets winning two out of their three toughest remaining games (Eagles, Giants, and Dolphins). So I'm not sure how unbiased your judgment is.

here's mine

Jets remaining schedule*:

Buffalo - W
@ Washington - W
Kansas City - W
@ Philadelphia - L
NY Giants - W
@ Miami - W

Cincinnati remaining schedule:

Cleveland - W
@ Pittsburgh - W
Houston - L
@ St. Louis - W
Arizona - L
Baltimore - L

Tennessee remaining schedule:

Tampa Bay - L
@ Buffalo - W
New Orleans - L
@ Indy - W
Jacksonville - W
@ Houston - L

Denver remaining schedule:

@ San Diego - L
@ Minnesota - L
Chicago - L
New England - L
@ Buffalo - W
Kansas City - W

Final Records:
Jets: 10-6
Cincy: 9-7
Tenn: 8-8
Den - 7 - 9

*Jets remaining schedule is based on the "if the jets can get it together" mentality.

Personally, I see the Bengals choking down the stretch.

Here is the problem with these predictions: Nobody knows how important week 17 games will be. I could easily see the Ravens and Texans resting starters with nothing to play for that week. If that happens...the predictions go down the hole.

There is no way that make the playoffs because of the following:

1. Sanchez--regressing
2. Defense- horrendous safeties and no pass rush.
3. Schittyheimer--need I say more

4. Our Oline is horrible,
5. Have you seen the Giants pass rush, what's the single game sack record for the NFL?

Yep, something better happen to sure up the Oline before the Giant game, otherwise that's gonna be a slaughter. Possibly worse than the Baltimore game.

Yet the Oline playing like sh*t is exactly why I don't think Sanchez is regressing. Dude is a good QB. Can't judge him when he's getting killed back there. He'll never be Peyton or Fruitcake, but there's no need for that on this team.

If the Oline can get the job done (and I don't mean for the occasional play) Sanchez and the RB committee can definitely play well enough to go 5-1 down the stretch.

Big IF though.

Two easy games, Bills and Chiefs. We will be in a battle against the Skins, Eagles, Giants and Dolphins. This season has 9 and 7 written all over it.

Is there any way we can sneak into the playoffs at 6-10?

The Jets are not going to make the playoffs. They have too many issues...the most significant one is the play of their Oline, especially RT.

We will need a really good offseason to right the ship.

The Bengals would only have to lose two games, provided one is the Ravens. That would give the tie breaker to the Jets based on common opponents.

There is still a chance to make the playoffs, but not if the OLine does not step it up over the last six games.

How do the Jets make the playoffs? It starts with the five guys up front. If they can play the way they did against Mia, SD & Buff, there is still a chance. If they look like they did in the last two games, then its not going to matter what those other teams do.

6 days everyone (including myself) had the denver game down as a W.

i would not be surprised to see the jets lose to anyone left on their schedule.

i'm still optimistic, but enough of this looking ahead. lets beat buffalo first.

Not everyone. I said they were losing. The JETS are not making the playoffs.

Stop with these threads already.

People actually are scared of the Bengals with a rookie QB. What is this world coming to? ;)

More scared about what our offense won't do.
