Ground & Pound?
Pretty funny when you think about this.
We have one running back that can't stay healthy when carrying the load & is not even a breakaway runner. We have an OLD HOF running back that is really only good for 8-12 carries per game, mostly as a 3rd down back & has missed the last 2 games. We have a backup in McKnight that is more of a slasher, screen back. Ground & Pound? Shouldn't even be mentioned with this 2011 team. Does this running game scare ANYONE? We're ranked 26th! Where does Greene rank in the NFL vs all other backs? Lagarett Blount is a BETTER back than Greene & he was a UDFA! Say what you want about Sanchez but look what has happened to Eli & the Giants without a running game, 3 losses in a row & another coming this Sunday, yet our 3rd year QB playing with a horrible RT, an uneven running game, a slow 2nd receiver, a star Wideout that does not go 100% all out, a new fullback & a lousy OC that has been mediocre for 6 years. Match that to what Brees & Rogers have & it's a total mismatch, especially Brees! Pierre Thomas is as good as Greene & he's a BACKUP! Sproles, Ingram! Plus all his receivers! Look at Rogers receivers! Last edited by jetster; 12-02-2011 at 09:52 AM. |

First 2/3 rounds every draft should be geared towards that, then we'd be a perrenial playoff team. Too many folks get enarmored by the "skill" position players. |

I mean if we are honest 10 guys pulled out from the stands should have no effect on how Sanchez plays, right!!!!! No running game, poor routes by the WRs, outrageously poor OL play, these are just exceuses, right????? Lets get Sanchez out of here so we can get the HOF QB play back in here that we fans have been used to for the last 25 years!!!! Are you with me!!!! |

Shonn Greene is an above average RB. He showed enough big play potential during his rookie season (especially in the playoffs) for the Jets FO to let Thomas Jones go via free agency.
The G&P was nonexistent through the first 5 games. There was a lot of focus on the passing game and the results were dreadful. The first offensive snap of the 2011 season set the tone for the season. DeMarcus Ware blew passed Wayne Hunter and crushed Sanchez. That happened several times that game. There isn't a defense out there that respects our passing game. They blitz frequently & often with success. |
