If you can get him on an incentive laden deal than why not bring him back... I say get him now(if healthy) and give him the entire off season to start working with Mark and the offense again. If the Jets do make the postseason then you are adding a guy who already knows the system and might be able to make an impact.
Exactly.

This good enough? It's from ESPN today about Braylon's release
Edwards hurt his knee in a Sept. 18 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He had surgery and didn't return until Oct. 30 against the Cleveland Browns, but the injury has nagged him all season.

He had just one catch for nine yards in a victory Saturday over the Seattle Seahawks in what turned out to be his final game with San Francisco
Plus, look at his entire statement. He's saying he's going to use the offseason to strengthen his knee and get ready for 2012. He's not talking about signing anywhere or looking for another job this season.

He was listed as questionable going into that game, so was Ginn. So IF Braylon is healthy why would the 49ers release him? Their other TE Walker is out with a broken jaw, Ginn is still banged up but able to play, and their depth at WR is pretty bad. So my question is again, why would they release a healthy WR at this point in the season, when they are in such a need for one?

Injured or not you sign him and get him onboard for next season. Its pretty simple things didnt work out in San Francisco. We surely missed him here this season.

We should take the same approach with Adrian Peterson! Could you imagine Peterson and Edwards, and their two combined healthy knees, sparking the Jets offense under Schottenheimer next season? Must See TV.

Why???? What advantage is it to sign him now? Plus, if your Braylon why sign right now with anyone? Most likely your getting minimum money, so why not get healthy and test out the free agent market in the spring. Its not going to get any worse for him in the spring.

The question? Is he healthy can he play on Sunday? Ive seen no confirming reports that hes still injured. If he is why was he active in week 16?

He was questionable going into that game, he played sparingly and had just one catch. The 49ers would not have released a healthy Braylon Edwards given their lack of depth at receiver and TE.

actually the thing here is that both the Jets and Braylon tried to go in different directions this year...Braylon tested the waters and was disappointed, the Jets went with Plax, and while not a failure, not nearly the player he was...getting Braylon in here early and cheap for next season is not a bad idea imho

I think they should bring him in next year to see how that knee is doing.

But why would Braylon sign NOW for cheap money? He can get healthy and try to get more money in the spring.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but he did test FA waters last season and didn't get anywhere near what he wanted. Perhaps he is more realistic now, we know he liked it here. If the Jets are still interested in him (of course we have no idea) it would make sense for them in that they could supervise his rehab.

I don't think the team has shown that much excitement all year.

Commitment. Show him we made a mistake and owe him redemption here.

SMC was saying he ws hurt and has been inactive since. I was simply stating that he played on Saturday.

FWIW, I don't want the Jets to resign Braylon next year. I want youth and speed at the WR position.

Is this a joke? Are Jet fans really this desperate? This thread is like watching a dying crack addict smoke lint off the floor in the hopes he dropped a hit and can still get high.

Why would the 49'ers cut him now? Think about it. They are definitely in the playoffs & have a good chance to win the SB. Why deny Braylon a chance to stay on the roster for another measly 39 days & maybe get a SB ring? Could a bonus playoff check while riding the pine be that much of a bank breaker for SanFran?

Once again I'm positive there is more to Braylon's story than just his knee injury, yet some Jet fans want him back here in NY? Please just say NO to this s#ithead coming back to gang green and for the love of God, move on sheepole, move on.

Thanks.
